What a joke !! I went away on vacation for 5 days, and I come back, 8 out of the top 14 sites for Google keywords “poker sites” (with no quotes) are spam city from the same idiot:
For keyword “poker sites”, the top 8 out of 14 links returned are all from the SAME spammer:
http://timpoker.forumer.pl/
http://sites.virtuaboard.com
http://jimpoker.mabulle.com/These 3 are redirects to http://www.freewebs.com with illicit redirects from bxip.net

http://www.guestcity.com/cgi-bin/view.fcgi?book=davidabby
http://freewebs.com/hollybruce/poker-10.html

Maybe the answer is to join this Black Hatter to outrank him ? I know exactly what he does, and how he does it, and I have reported this to Google on a daily basis. I think this is a clear statement from Google, that they do not care what happens.
August 25, 2006 at 4:17 pm #703497AnonymousInactivePlease don’t join their ranks… Don’t we have enough to deal with??
August 25, 2006 at 6:57 pm #703510AnonymousInactivekwblue,
I am an ethical person, so I wouldn’t lower myself to doing that. However, the Search Engines need to be taught a valuable lesson, and I’m afraid to say that this might be the only way to prove to them how it cheapens their service.
Arrrggghhhh !!!
August 25, 2006 at 7:02 pm #703511AnonymousInactiveI understand… I just don’t get how it could possibly be very complex for the Google engineers to get these BH programs, understand how they work, and ban sites that use them.
But then again – I suppose they have to try to ensure that everyone else stays indexed.
who knows. Yeah, it sucks.
August 25, 2006 at 7:21 pm #703512AnonymousInactiveyes, its as bad as can be! you guys should check out this thread.

August 25, 2006 at 7:34 pm #703513AnonymousInactiveSure, it is a nice idea, and will help build community, but the bottom line is that it won’t negate these BH’ers from gaining rank in the engines. Only the engines can put an end to this mess.
August 25, 2006 at 7:42 pm #703517AnonymousInactiveSad but true! 😡

Interesting article here:

I applaud any such efforts, as they are spirited and for a just cause.
The key though is getting the search engines to do something. Perhaps if we all could report 50 spam sites a day to Google, and do it as part of a daily effort (I know, we’re doing their job), then perhaps the message might be heard louder and clearer ????????
Otherwise, we are all going to continue to see a large reduction in business, which is directly proportional to the amount of reduction in organic traffic.
I thought you and Greek said that Google was doing something about this ? All I see are some occasional deletions from the index, which are then followed up continuous spamming under different domain names. I personally see no effort put in by Google to rid us of this problem, long-term. Anything they do is a short-term deletion fix, if that.
August 25, 2006 at 11:58 pm #703543AnonymousInactiveNo, the fix is very long term, and it isn’t very hard to create an algo that does away with most types of BH sites, but the problem is that innocents may get caught up in the net and that is what takes all the time to sort.
The reports are good and very valuable as they provide the basis of the new algo.
It takes google about 2 weeks to remove sites as a result of complaints.
August 26, 2006 at 12:05 am #703544AnonymousInactiveWell, Dom, I hope you are right that they are attempting the long-term fix, instead of the band-aid method. These BH’ers know about the 2 week cycle, because they are constantly releasing new sites, in anticipation of some getting deleted. They are smart, and are challenging the SE’s to come up with a long-term fix. Meanwhile, they are stealing from the honest ones.
August 26, 2006 at 1:22 am #703549AnonymousInactiveDominique, that is an interesting read indeed.

I may write my hosting service to see what they are doing/offering/suggesting. I had not thought of that.I don’t think there is one clear answer but there are alot of good suggestions that when put together can make a difference. I strongly feel that if we collectively write google, make black hat educational pages, write our affiliate managers etc, we can put up a good fight. There is a wealth of knowledge here. I feel the key is that together, we have power. This thread for one is alerting those concerned that we need action and not wait and wait for google while our stats fall. Writing google is a must but I think we need more.
Just my opinion.
