September 24, 2007 at 10:02 am #605106cobstersliceMemberGoogle has suggested to add [rel=’nofollow’] to external links. Do you think that operator will be mad at me if I do that to their link at my website or they couldn’t care less?September 24, 2007 at 12:40 pm #749794AnonymousInactive
They shouldn’t care. If they do care, it means they’re using your link to boost their PR, for SEO reasons, which can ultimately allow them to compete against you in the search engines.
I would add rel=”nofollow” to all of your affiliate links. If the operator objects, I’d drop them, because it would be clear at that point what their intentions were.
September 25, 2007 at 12:50 am #749832AnonymousInactiveThat could work for Link pages.
What if the link is in a content page?
“no follow” in this case means that my own page will be ignored by the SE.

Crazy. You wouldn’t use rel=”nofollow” on a link that points to a page of yours, or to a link partner’s site. You would only use rel=”nofllow on links that point to online casinos, poker rooms, etc.
September 26, 2007 at 1:42 pm #749985cobstersliceMemberThanks for replaying.I will write a script which adds ‘nofollow’ all lnks that are not my own.September 26, 2007 at 2:03 pm #749988AnonymousInactive@Adam 140163 wrote:

Do NOT use rel=”nofollow” on your link partner links. :nono:

Crazy.Villa: I think that your thinking about nofollow in the header of the page which your right it wouldn’t allow SE’s to crawl the page. What Adam is talking about is adding rel=”nofollow” in your affiliate links. Here is an example:
Online Casino
Doing that at link level will allow you to keep link juice from passing through certain links without affecting the crawling of your pages. Hope that clears it up a bit.
Online Casino

Yes. That’s right.
I was thinking in the header of the page.Where have you seen this villa10? this is news to me.
Thanks
BradI’ve read out there that Google is suggesting that for paid links.
The page must have the “nofollow” robot.
In this way the link trade is not related with PR. -
