Oh my… I’m moving my sites from one server to another, and now I see this… don’t know what to say.
When I saw this thread name, I thought “something isn’t correct. Maybe it’s another site”.But it wasn’t…See you around, Dom! I’m registered for less than a year, but I read here for many years, and I was used to read what you write.
I sure hope CAP doesn’t end. As I said in the past, I almost don’t have any free time, but I try to come here daily. :unhappy: :unhappy: :unhappy:

I didn’t sell myself, nor have I lost interest.
Now is a time where each person has to decide whether to hold’em or to fold’em, and I was lucky to have decided to fold’em some time ago. So no big deal here, I needed the free time.

Firstly, why would CAP shut down? They arent involved in cash transactions nor do they have links to casinos.
You havent lost interest but you decided long ago to “fold em”? I thought you were always that vocal person saying its never going to happen, “can I say I told you so yet?” Now you say you knew all along and have been planning an exit? Are you planning on coming back soon? Going to be working only in the adult industry?
Im just curious when do you expect your sell to be final as in when will the new owners proceed with transfer etc?
Hey Dom sorry to see this, we need all the old timers we can get. I wish you lots of luck in your new ventures, starting something new and challenging can be very fun.

Axl, this was mostly a personal decision. G&C has some 3000 pages and takes 7 people minimum to keep up. I have worked on this for 5 years, and usually 7 days a week 10 hours a day. I need a life!
I have been receiving and evaluating offers since January. Maybe I would have kept dawdling longer if it wasn’t for the current situation, but I had already decided to sell to the party that would keep G&C running exactly as is. And both my husband and me were getting tired of all the negotiations.
I will be building anew and it will be less time consuming than such a large site.
My baby is all growed up, and I needed to let go or become a huge business. I chose to let go and play with something new.
All of us have to make deep personal decisions as to what we will do next. I am surprised Dominique, but good luck on your next ventures.
I plan to hold onto my site, and make necessary changes if and when needed. I also plan to attend the Affiliate Summit 2007 West that will be held in Las Vegas taking place January 21-23 at Bally’s Las Vegas to look into other ventures.
Islandmaan, this oldtimer is sticking around and we’ll be seeing each other.
Porn? Not me. Too much competition, and I don’t want to look at that stuff all day and get jaded and all that comes with such constant exposure.
Thowze, Vegas always attracts me but I will be in Europe attending ICE and the CAPEURO conferences then.

Thats gotta work out to 10+hrs per page; I guess selling in your case was a good idea.

I guess Im just a curious person but if you are selling and getting out of the business why do you plan on attending all the industry events?

You posted about it here in the public forum so I think its now public knowledge. I was just asking questions or making comments about what you posted; if you didnt want people to ask questions why did you even post it? Why not just keep it all behind closed doors?
These are trying times and everyone is stressed out; sorry didnt mean to bug you, Im just curious. None of it makes sense to me. You even side stepped the adult sites. Personally I suspect you didnt sell it at all. Sorry.

Find something else more productive to do. We have SO much going on this week in our industry that you should be able to find something far more interesting to discuss then the sale of someone elses site.
