I thought I’d start this thread. I swore, this year, I wouldn’t buy domains… but argh, I have started already.
But this time round, i’ve been finding already registered domains for sale, and also domains which have been sitting online, and have been aged a little.
What would someone pay for a slots domain, it has the keyword I want in it.
Its been online for 12 months, has 8 pages on it, no external links, appears in the SERPs, traffic is 10 a day.. but I’d regard that as being 0.Whats its worth? Any ideas guys?
Much appreciated.

How much would you pay for it? I am sure your buy price and your sell price are quite different yes?

Depends on the domain for sure.

12 months is better then 1 month but not by much, 8 pages meh, if I buy it I can remove external links very easily, by your own account you say no traffic…not seeing a whole lot here from your description.
appears in the SERPs
you may have something here, better to appear in SERPs then not, but does it rank top whatever for anything significant? 0 traffic, probably not.
One big selling point for websites is how many backlinks it has from other sites, you did not mention this though so I am guessing not many?
Since you are reluctant to share your domain/site, I will share a similar site to your description – TopOnlineSlots.net (slots related, 12 months+, handful of pages, no external links, appears in serps, low traffic).
Sorry to hijack but I think this is a great topic, just hard to get anything going without an example.

Hijacking? Hey that’s fine! More the merrier!
These were the domains I was thinking of picking up,
onlinegamblingx.com
latestcasinosonline.com
onlineslotsmoney.comreally domains in their infancy.

onlinegamblingx.com
latestcasinosonline.com
onlineslotsmoney.comFor domain value, people usually like to see:
- .com
- short name
- memorable
- exact match to a search (exact match domain)
- High CPC
So these 3 are .com’s, but are long, not very memorable, and their exact match have no searches. Also, the .net and .org of all 3 are available for reg fee.
As for Age of the domains – they are all pretty new
onlinegamblingx.com – 2010-08-09
latestcasinosonline.com – 2010-04-14
onlineslotsmoney.com – 2010-11-10a couple of tools I used while trying to value these –
Google Adwords Tool
https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/Explorer?__u=1000000000&__c=1000000000&ideaRequestType=KEYWORD_IDEAS#search.noneI use this to get a rough idea on how many searches the exact term gets.
At first glance the search Online Slots Money shows 6600 global monthly searches which would be very awesome if it were EXACT MATCH. By default, BROAD MATCH is selected. If you use this tool, MAKE SURE YOU CLICK THE BOX THAT SAYS EXACT MATCH! After you do a search on the left hand sidebar toward the bottom you will see:
Match Types
Broad
[Exact]
“Phrase”Click the Exact Match box and now 6600 global searches becomes 36! The other 2 domains show 0 for both broad and exact.
SEMRush – SEMRush – service for competitors research, shows Google organic and AdWords keywords for any site or domain
This site will show most high paying or high searched terms a domain is ranking for in the top 20, how many searches the term gets, and CPC info.Estibot – EstiBot.com – Free Domain Appraisal and Domain Productivity Tools
Estibot has some nice tools like showing what extensions are available, CPC and search value for the exact match. Many people think the value they give a domain to be not very accurate, but then again it is called estibot. I find it pretty good at comparing a lot of sites / weeding out crap. Estibot shows $0 for all three domains.Would you be getting the sites too or just the domains?
