Another change i made was to make the VP and MHVP games on the above Casino full pay .I am trying this out to see what type of response it illicits from my clients and if it is positive then i will extend it to Geisha and Kings as well.
What do you guys think.
regards
Greg
June 22, 2004 at 3:31 pm #650773vladcizsolMemberCan you explain further Greg I am a little confused by the term “full pay”….
June 22, 2004 at 3:53 pm #650776AnonymousInactiveEssentially RTg Casinos have the option to set their paytables at 3 settings ,low medium and high ,now before evryone goes of on a tangent some of the VP and MHVP games are distinctly biased towards the player therefore the feature ,when you change the paytables between these settings the obvious thing that changes are the amounts that people get paid .The Actaul paytable changes ,it is also not a significant amount
After discussing this with a few people i have decided that the % that we might be saving really is not worth it,i want us to not only have the best VP and MHVP on the net but we also need to compete against the MGS and Playtechs of the world in this regard ,they offer full pay on all their games ,true they dont have 100 hand VP and we have , plus we allow players to double up like the MGS Casinos.
All in all this is a trial to see what kind of response i will get from the paying playing clients.
I have been lambasted on my end of the woods but i believe that this is the right thing to do for players and only time will prove me right or wrong.I hope that it is right
If you have any more questions please let me know.
Best Regards
GregJune 22, 2004 at 3:57 pm #650777AnonymousGuestI think changing the paytables to full pay is an advantage.
Players who win return, for one thing – and the house still has the advantage.
When I market video poker, I check the pay schedules to be sure I’m marketing full pay VP. I don’t know if many webmasters do this, but if they do, then it’s certainly worthwhile to have full pay at the casino just to get the extra exposure.
Let us know when Geisha and Kings have it. I have a couple of poker sites launching.
June 22, 2004 at 4:02 pm #650778AnonymousInactiveHello Janet
I will definitely let everyone know re this ,and i agree with you re the fact that players keep coming back ,i really dont envisage a long delay before Kings and Geisha have full pay as well ,currently they are set to the RTG recommended settings .
It basically depends on what happens on Grand Aces as to how long the changes take for the other two ,i hope not long
Best Regards

Make sure that when management assesses the impact this has, that they look at the whole casino, not just the VP results.

Completely agree with Blackjack. I’ll be giving Grand Aces some exposure as a direct result of this, also.
June 22, 2004 at 8:00 pm #650782AnonymousInactiveI really appreciate the space that you are giving me ,i hope that this will be a success.A lot of the time the mnagement of Casinos dont tend to listen to players and Affiliates but i can tell you that this particular group does -I wont go on about it but if you have any more ideas that we can explore let me know,im committed to making you guys morer and i know that if that happens we will make more as a result ,
Thank you Blackjackinfo and Fergie ,i appreciate it
July 13, 2004 at 6:06 pm #652098AnonymousInactiveLooks like the full-pay experiment is over. The paytables at Grand Aces have been reduced, though they’re still competitive.
July 13, 2004 at 7:07 pm #652101AnonymousInactiveHmm, scratch that comment about ‘competitive’. The paytable for Jacks or Better has been reduced to the worst available, 6/5.
The theoretical return of that game with perfect play is a meager 95.0%.
I’d still like to commend them for trying this. It’s apparent they must have booked some substantial losses. I think there’s still a middle ground there somewhere, perhaps with running full-pay on nickel and quarter denominations, and having the higher denominations slightly under 100% return.
July 13, 2004 at 7:40 pm #652104AnonymousInactiveHmm. That’s really strange.
I asked Greg about the end of May to change the paytables on the VP, and he agreed. I told him the reason I had no signups was because the VP sucked… LOL…
To his credit, it was changed, at least on Grand Aces. But I am a little bit surprised, to say the least, that the paytables have reverted to the worst possible.
Maybe someone accidentally reset to the default settings? I have a hard time believing that this was an experiment gone horribly wrong.

Or: Could it be a bait and switch tactic? Or did wager just get overruled on his quest?
Nothing would suprise me anymore.
July 14, 2004 at 8:08 am #652140AnonymousInactiveMy apologies for not writing sooner guys ,i knew this was going to happen ,all of yesterday i meant to post but one thing after another occurred .
Well let me give you a brief history of what happened when i changed to Full Pay on VP and MHVP
A lot of players signed up ,wich is a fantastic thing ,they all played MHVP which is great ,we then started seeing the very canny player who knows his MHVP and is not afraid to put down $10-$15k because he knows that eventually he will be ahead.
Curiosly this is entirely a European thing ,i had no players in the USA who tried thisThe experiment did not go horribly wrong ,i think i stopped it before that happened but it did identify areas that we can improve on.
The reasons for RTG having these different payout levels is that a lot of the machines payout at over 100% .
I doubt if MGS have that even at full pay,
therefore this is what i propose to do ;
I want to speak to Michael Shackleford and ask him to do an analysis of our games comapred to MGS games and from that i would like to know what his recommendations are re the settings of the games .
I will compare these to the RTG settings and then i will come back and talk to you all about this.
I need to find a middle ground on this but i will definitely be doing this again.I just need to refine my approach with regards to this.
Once again my apologies for the late notification
Best Regards
GregJuly 14, 2004 at 11:24 am #652149AnonymousInactiveA quicjk little post to let you know of the developements re my meeting this morning ,
I have convinced the powers that be to alter just the games that have over a 100% payout ratio to the medium setting .
I belive that this will give our players and the Casino a better chance all around and we will avoid the abuse that i experienced.
I will post here as soon as the changes have been made
Best Regards
GregJuly 14, 2004 at 4:38 pm #652161AnonymousInactiveI am changing the Settings for now to the RTG recommended settings ,i will have this done by tommorow .Please believe me when i tell you that this is not my idea of fun .
I need to fine tune this a little bit more and i have a report that is going out to the owners tommorow. If they follow my recommendations the changes will be across all of our Casinos and will then be cast in stone. The changes to RTG recommended settings will be completed tmrw as i am shattered
No further changes will take place .
The silence however is ominous so please let me know how you feel guys ,i want all of us to make money but using the current methodology ,it was not working for any of us bar a number of very canny operators.
Regards
