June 7, 2006 at 4:30 pm #694876AnonymousInactiveThanks Dom. From Rand’s blog:
Rand blogged that Bowling was only possible if the up-to-no-gooder’s made it look like the targeted site “participated” in the program by creating the illusion of reciprocal linking. Rand also said the only sites vulnerable were newbie sites, freshly 301’d sites, sites that changed ownership or ones that have never had strong rankings. Sites that have already established themselves need not worry about being taken out. You’re safe.
June 7, 2006 at 4:31 pm #694878AnonymousInactiveTechnically, but only if you’re just starting out and have already managed to severely annoy your fellow competitors.
Do you think Ziv is annoyed. :woo-hoo: :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
June 7, 2006 at 5:48 pm #694886AnonymousInactiveOh yes.
Our industry is the most profitable one these days.
He has no more clients here, no one wants to have happen to them what happened to 888.
Thats what this is all about.
We won.
June 7, 2006 at 8:38 pm #694907AnonymousInactiveIndeed Dominique we all have won this battle. Things are in perspective now, and I am grateful. greek39

Snap, same problem with my site also.
June 8, 2006 at 3:39 pm #694995AnonymousInactiveI still have a ton too, google removes them and they are replaced by other domains. Google is aware of the problem and I am sure they are trying to solve it.
Let’s just keep reporting, so they will continue to clean what they can until they sweep it.
Make sure you explain in your complaints what happened, that affiliate programs in this industry decided not to pay blackhatters anymore and that this is their revenge…
June 14, 2006 at 1:42 pm #695484AnonymousInactiveI am still being attacked / scraped by these .pl and .info domains.
Yesterday, I was checking my stats, and I noticed that this one IP had accessed my site over 4,500 times. It chewed up close to 150 MB in one day. I banned the bastard — IP 192.114.71.185 if anyone is interested. The IP originates from Israel, of course.
Unfortunately my site seems to be struggling to stay online these days. “Too many MySQL connections” or something. I never had this problem before, and I’m not sure if this is happening due to natural traffic growth, or due to being attacked because of my 888 blacklist page.
Any opinions or thoughts?
June 14, 2006 at 1:51 pm #695491AnonymousInactiveJust a question… Are all the backlinks to your home pages only, or are the links distributed internally as well?
June 14, 2006 at 1:53 pm #695493vladcizsolMemberThe attacks have been ramping up for weeks. The PL sites continue to increase. We have custom written anti scrape and anti hammer scripts running now on our sites and its helped, but the person doing these attacks is very determined and writes automated scripts which mimic browsers and switch IPs upon detection.
The good part of the story is our Israeli friend is devoting a large part of his time and computer resources to stage thse attacks so obviously everyones efforts are having a huge impact on him or it wouldnt warrant all this attention.
Keep up the pressure and increase it where ever possible. Soon it will be too much effort and time for him to justify any longer and he will be forced to turn his attentions elsewhere as this arena will no longer be cost effective to pursue.
June 14, 2006 at 2:04 pm #695497AnonymousInactiveIndeed engineer the Ip originates from Israel then hits Amsterdam then back to Israel then Germany then it goes to North America.

I would consider downloading VisualRoute trial version. Perhaps maybe consider perchasing the program. The program will provide you a map and demonstrate how these Ip’s flip and end up at your location. One of many tools to consider. Puts into perspective why a simple server change may help. greek39I would add one of Ziv’s sites originates from Holland. If you understand how the Global Network operates you will be in a better position to take care of these problems. So far, the are targetting a certain route along the Global Network. I am not affected so far in the slightest.

I do make an effort to get links to the inner pages (i.e. by doing link exchanges with people I know), but the scraper pages all point to the homepage. -
