I guess I was lucky then , I made 800.00 first month, that made me dive right in, back in 05 . If it was as slow as I read in the other post, I probably would not be here. The market is saturated with aff’s and the player availabilty tight, but its always worth a shot at something new. Good Luck!
December 8, 2007 at 7:24 pm #755996AnonymousInactivestarting out is hard, if you know nothing about seo and with current restrictions on gambling ads… and fraud clicks… it will be even tougher that earlier on…
December 10, 2007 at 9:12 pm #756143AnonymousInactiveHi guys,
I must say I’ve been really lucky. I started a year ago and made my first money in the first couple of days. Since then I made around 30k. Not bad for the first year. No site apart from the white label in my signature, and still going.
At the moment my fun player base is about 500 and real players 100, altough I only have about ten active per week.
Let me know if anyone needs advise and tips PM me.Have a good one guys…

Thats great.. you’re doing great. It took me about 6 months to get a check.. and since then it’s a slow progressive climb. I like hearing success stories.
cheers!
December 23, 2007 at 6:57 am #757303AnonymousInactiveFirst 4 months $0, on 5th month something like $3000 (but just lucky for a couple of players) on 6th around $400. From the month number 7/8 i’ve started to earn every month…
December 23, 2007 at 7:42 pm #757311AnonymousInactiveMost casino affiliates start out building banner farms, and generally don’t make money until they have a few different banner farms built and they can start linking them together.
Write good, targeted content and you will see returns more quickly. Look around at different sites and you will see the majority of them are still banner farms. Go the opposite direction- write good content and monetize through text affiliate links rather than banners. For the most part they are more effective in addition to not looking trashy.
December 24, 2007 at 2:53 am #757324biggygMemberwell it took one of my sites 5 months to make $100.00 and 11 months later it makes $xx,xxx+ monthly now.If you want to make these levels start with writing your own reviews of the caisnos you place on your sites.for the most part what is provided by the casinos are horrible and dont forget there are thousands of copies out there.dont overwhelm yourself and try to cover all groups overnight. slow and steady wins the race, that’s my motto!

January 11, 2008 at 10:01 pm #758481accordisMemberI started with a free hosting service, think it was tripod? back in 1999 or 98. one or 2 page banner farm, added some links and bought $25 worth of ads with a lotto site, made $300 my first month, small change every few months came in, never worked on it at all. bought about $25 worth of ads every few months and made about 3x’s back.
in 2001 i started buying domain names and working harder, made alot and a few months made nothing.
always up and down, i did better knowing less and working less lol.
just began working hard again after 3 years of riding what I had.
seems other industry’s are easier and less fustrating with all the new laws. but this industry is still my number one and the most exciting.
The sites in my signature I consider rubbish but rubbish makes more than anything good i have ever worked on lol.
Sites I built for companies I have worked for do very well, they took alot of time to complete and had absolutley no funny business, all pages were hand coded and very specific, the traffic on those sites grew huge after about 6 months and continue to make those people money. I am not patient when it comes to my own stuff so i just throw something up and buy some ads or links. I know taking my time works but like I said i am not patient. as you can read i wont check my grammar or spelling lol, speed and numbers guy. good luck and thanks for listening… i have to go to the kids practices now!!!!February 1, 2008 at 1:51 pm #759880e-agro.netMemberjust finished my first month. You can put me down for zero!! Still spending most of my time on the content building thing for now.
Only up from here!!!

This is my first post on this forum and after reading the above quote, I had to let you ALL know that the information/tips I gained is great ! My “boss” on the forum I moderate pointed me to this thread. He knows I am in the works of my own site ( just started building 3-4 weeks ago ) and that I am expressing my frustrations to him ! Not that it is even published and certainly not expecting any payments at this time, but the frustration on the actualy build. This is all so new to me but i’t s a wonderful “project” I love doing. I will continue to check back here to see if I can pick up anymore wonderful tips/mottos !
Thanks for letting me share !

Liking what you are doing is very important, and helps when money isn’t rolling in right away. My first site was a project as well.
I started out as an online blackjack player way before I owned my first website. I found out which sites paid out, how fast, had good bonuses, etc. I did my homework and investigated all this, not as an affiliate but as a player. I loved doing this as well.
In about 2 months I had won about $6K as a player, and I had a few friends that wanted to know what I did. So I made my first website, with little trip reports for each casino that I trusted, strategy cards, bonus info, basically made it as simple as possible. I knew nothing about search engines, SEO, links, anything, barely knew how to use frontpage. Fast forward about 3 years, and this little site I made for my friends has earned pretty close to 100K.
I have had friends try to get in and then quickly get out of this business because the money wasn’t coming in right away or it wasn’t as easy as they thought it would be. Time in this sense is our friend, as this frustrates the hell out of most people and they give up before they even have a chance.
You will have to do a lot of reading and learning along the way. Some of it will be exciting, some of it will not be at all. This is also a stumbling block for people.
I have also seen many spend too much time on making their template or site design perfect for their first site. Focus more on the quality of your content and you will be a lot better off. Starting out, no matter what you do or how much time you spend on your template, you will want to change it, and often. Keep it simple to start.
Basic steps I suggest for starting out for the first year:
1. Write content
2. Write content
3. Write content
4. get a couple of links
5. Write content
6. Write content
7. Read SEOBook (google it) –
8. optimize site
9. get lots of links
10. alternate writing content and getting linksTime wasters I wished someone would have warned me about
1. infatuation with google pagerank
2. checking affiliate stats wayyyy to often
3. checking search engine rankings
4. hanging out and writing small novels in forumsGood luck to you. Stick with it and it will really pay off in the end.

Your advice is MUCH appreciated ! And because I don’t want to waste precious content writing time, I’m outta here ! Joan Collins isn’t going to have a thing on me by the time I get done writing ! Thanks again !
