Just read this http://www.affiliateguarddog.com/forums/sad-news-cap-euro-t746.html
Anything to say on this?
January 30, 2009 at 8:12 pm #794102AnonymousInactiveBasically NO punches were thrown! Stephen/CityGuard was escorted out of the hotel after attending the conference, but later welcomed back by Warren.
The Professor and JTodd did not fight, but was stopped from leaving the building in order to ‘discuss’ things.
THIS is exactly what I was afraid would happen and I’m sad to see it.
January 30, 2009 at 8:18 pm #794104AnonymousInactiveIf the monopoloy stuff is true I cant see CAP surviving
January 30, 2009 at 8:23 pm #794105biggygMemberHere is what another forum is reporting :
The details are still sketchy but apparently the show organizers instructed security to remove GPWA staff from the hotel (not the show) by any means necessary. Apparently Steven Corfman took the brunt of it and was assaulted in front of everybody by security in the lobby while being screamed at by CAP staff.
So did cap organiser ask them to be removed?was gpwa doing anything out out of line there?Lou challenged JTODD to a fight? Is that true?
This is another quote :But earlier in the day Warren was telling affiliate managers if they work with GPWA or APCW they will have a difficult time dealing with CAP. So much for coming together.
Did that happen?January 30, 2009 at 8:58 pm #794110AnonymousInactiveGuys, it’s London, we should count ourselves lucky no one was stabbed.
January 30, 2009 at 9:10 pm #794113biggygMemberYeah that is true .Personally if this was going to end things i would let them pound the piss out of each other.
January 30, 2009 at 9:23 pm #794114LucretiaMemberif this is true and i think it is …….
I have just one thing to say : i am ashamed to be a member of a big affiliate program/forum info site that acts very unprofessional these days.
If you guys need to add bad publicity to this industry just go ahead and destroy it all now before affiliates put a lot of time in it making it a better place.
If you have the urge to make yourself look like idiots please do it in private not on public events.
Really disgusting moral :cappy:.

January 30, 2009 at 9:31 pm #794116teabagopenmicesMemberSo nothing happened then?
Regardless I think that the tension between the two programs has hit it’s peak, regardless of there being a violent altercation or not. The reality is that these are grown men and fighting in public like that does nothing but hinder the respective programs really.
If anyone does get the real story about what really happened it would be good to know.
Cheers,
MattJanuary 30, 2009 at 11:14 pm #794117fintanMemberI’m not in London, but it sounds to me like there was a loud argument, and then Mr. Corfman was escorted from the building. Is that really such a big deal?
And given all the anti-CAP content produced by APCW and GPWA lately, one has to wonder why they are there at CAP Euro in the first place.
January 30, 2009 at 11:47 pm #794119AnonymousInactive“I was unfortunately in my room when this happened. I came down to the lobby and it was a massive panic. People were yelling and the Professor (Lou Fabiono) was screaming at J Todd (GPWA) to ‘step outside and fight him’ in front of us all. I am not going back into the show,” one attendee told PAL.
Quotes like this and “Let’s settle this like men outside” are coming from quite a few witnesses and media outlets. Does Lou confirm or deny this?
January 31, 2009 at 12:50 am #794121aaronsmithMemberCan’t believe it. I haven’t really commented about this whole situation but now I think is time to speak up. When I heard about this whole problem between GPWA and CAP I was annoyed, these two forums I have enjoyed over the last couple of years as everyone has been so pleasant , these arguments need to be kept private as it is looking very unprofessional and bad for business. In future all problems with GPWA and CAP should be sorted out in private, I don’t want to hear about it. The fight, topped it off, this is ridiculous, I forgot to register this year it seems, had I come down with my new business partner for his first conference after I told him of how friendly the people in the industry are and we had seen this, this would have been terrible. At a conference where people build business relationships these antics will break business relationships. This must be controlled in future. I am not taking any sides in the matter and don’t care about the situation I like both of you for what you provide to affiliates and how you make all our business relationships alot easier, please don’t ruin this.
January 31, 2009 at 1:16 am #794122AnonymousInactiveJust a quick post before all the rumors hit:
Casinomeister was nowhere near the incident.
What I saw:
Steve (Michael Corfman’s son) was forcibly escorted from the lobby of the hotel by hotel security guards.
Lateron I spoke to Michael, Steve and Jtodd in the lobby of the same Hotel. Everyone is unharmed but shook up.
Michael told me that they had had a meeting with the event organizer and Warren.
Jtodd told me that Lou asked him to step outside with him to “settle this like men”.
No one is injured.
There are tons of rumors floating around. To correct some of them before they hit here:
No one was beaten up.
No one punched me out or even quarrelled with me at all.
Lou is not dead.
Ok, it’s been a long day and it’s 1 am here and I am going to bed.
January 31, 2009 at 2:14 am #794124AnonymousGuestI very much hope it is true that nobody was laid hand on.
I have stuck with CAP through a lot but I draw the line at physical violence. And I would be extremely disappointed to hear it came to that.
Not too thrilled with Lou’s asking JTodd to step outside but at least that was a gentleman’s dispute. If the Corfman boy was anything more than escorted and didn’t do anything to provoke violence then I would have to leave.
The boy doesn’t look like the type to seek out physical discord and i have never read anything that sounded even remotely violent from any of his posts.
If it comes out that the boy was in fact NOT laid hand on then I think gambling911 is due a law suit for providing damaging news reports which are unfounded. I know it would be the difference for me on whether I stayed around regular like before so I’m sure its that way with others. That is a severe damage and if 911 is incorrect they should be severely punished.
January 31, 2009 at 10:40 am #794133AnonymousInactiveI’m kinda glad I’m not at CAP this year – not sure the bad atmosphere would be what I need to be around.
For the record, I was reg’d to go and my non-attendance is nothing to do with the GPWA/CAP/Cardspike thing. We’ve just had a new baby and I need to be around here. Even so… perhaps the timing worked out well for me after all…
Like bb1 said, if no-one was indeed assaulted then that needs to be clarified immediately because it would be unfair to let rumours indicate otherwise. On the other hand, if anyone challenged anyone else to a fight then that is pretty damn disgusting.

Yes it is a big deal.
I don’t wonder why they were there, I wonder why there had to be yelling, challenges to fight, and people that were not causing problems to be physically escorted out, in a very dramatic way.
This has all gone way too far.
I’m sure there’s plenty of casinos and businesses in general that have dislikes or bad blood for some competitors of theirs. But you don’t see online casinos publically carrying on fighting, for months, and then to get to this. It’s a disgrace! Very unprofessional and really disappointing.
