I have just started doing this so be gentle.

The site is php nuke based and i am looking to see if in going in the right direction the banners etc just there at moment to see what format look i can go for etc.

It aint finished but want to know am i going in the right direction or do i start over.

I want to use phpnukes full resources for this d/ls for rules at casinos or utilities reviews etc.

So come on tell me what im doing wrong what i should be doing all critisicm taken as its needed for me to go ahead and be successfull at this.

    Thanks.

Well, you probably don’t need to “start over.” :) You’re off to a reasonably good start, though I agree with you that it isn’t finished yet. More content, more content, more content! Give your viewers a reason to come back. Your discussion board might help with that after enough people sign up.

I almost missed the tiny menu on the top right. I think the font is too small.

I looked at your source code. Your “keywords” meta tag could use some work. You probably don’t need to have keywords like phpnuke, hacker, geek, mysql, etc., as these have nothing to do with online casinos. Also, you may not know this, but the keywords are not case sensitive. You don’t need to repeat the words with different capitalization — Guru, guru, and GURU will all be treated the same. Repeating the words over and over again could be considered spamming by some search engines. Be careful about that.

Keep working on it, and you can shape it into a good looking, profitable site. I’ve seen it happen before. Good luck!

Well id isnt a finished site reason i posted for a response on it and good advice at that the meta tags not been done yet as not submitted anywhere these come as standard with php nuke i want a finished article before i start opening up to search engine submisions.

The Discussion board is bothering me reason i realy dont know enough on online casinos to advise ppl etc a bit of prompting or advise woulld be appreciated (sorry admin if i have over stepped mark asking that)

And the content will be plentifull once it is fully done im thinking 2-3 weeks i hope before its finished as ive done forums portals etc before i like to realy make sure everything is in place before i let it loose so to speak.

I hope it is a success i am going to be putting lot of work into this as i think going by the posts on here and elsewhere it is a very profitable bussiness if you do it properly.

    Thanks again for advice.

One question about PHP Nuke. Does it support friendly URL’s?

If there is a way of using that, do not hesitate. You will be far better indexed by search engines.

In the past I had a few sites with PHP Nuke and at that time no one cares about these friendly URL’s, but now the best content management systems support this, at least as an extension, and it is important.

If you cannot put this feature to work, I would consider using other script like mambo or post nuke.

Do you mean urls for casino linking so search engine etc logs it as i can put in urls anywhere except in the news section but im setting up a seperate module for that so i can put up like poker room links etc.

I mean internal URL’s. For example under the news module PHP Nuke will link to the article using:
    http://www.yoursite.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7078
This is not friendly. The friendly version would be some like:
    http://www.yoursite.com/modules/articles/23/
    or
    http://www.yoursite.com/modules/gambling/Red-Vegas-Casino/

    Nothing with & = ?

Look at http://www.nukecops.com for example. They have something that looks like this. Look at the links in forums and at the download section, for example.

@sharpgambler The links at first arent allowed so i went to phpnuke.org and it seams that for each module you set it to allow html and what tags this is disabled as ppl can submit news reciews tec so i just need to edit the php to get it to allow it so all is good on that part.

Liking this forum good ppl great advise.

    Thanks again

It’s not that I’m speaking about.

    Have a look at this:
    http://www.phpnuke.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=3974

    and for a better explanation:
    http://www.phpnuke.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=6769

And search for “short URL” at PHPnuke.

I’m speaking of the links you see on your browser and not about html allowed on the site.
