Even in the wake of widespread cutbacks to poker coverage following April 15’s online poker shutdown in the U.S., ESPN has announced plans to dramatically increase its WSOP coverage this year.

Is this a vote of confidence in the now-struggling poker industry? Or do these changes more likely reflect plans that had started long before April 15, and are too late to stop? Keep reading.

The could be doing it to replace the poker slot they removed with FT? From memory .. dont quote me on this, when everything went pear shape, ESPN dropped the tournament they were doing with FT?

That’s really great news, I love watching poker!!!

I hope this is ESPN’s way of keeping poker alive, and despite what has happened on black Friday, ESPN must realise that poker is still popular and very much loved.

This is good sign for online gambling, even if its indirect. Any coverage and positive media coverage of poker or gambling is a good sign :)
