I am thinking of starting an email campaign to promote my site, but need to acquire some good email addresses. Is there any good source for that? I want to target the European market.

I have never purchased email addresses but I know that in other industries like IT or pharmaceutical it is possible to acquire email addresses of those who have explicitly permitted someone to forward their address for marketing purpose. However, it is possible that due to ongoing spamming such business is no more possible.
