Yes! The number of inflated clicks and downloads are minimal when compared against the big picture.

My understanding – please correct me if I’m missing the boat, so-to-speak, of this thread is that some affiliates are noticing inflated clicks and downloads within there stats. Some are even noticing those extra clicks and downloads when they are not even pushing us.
We are discussing the reasons for these inflated clicks/downloads and one of the ideas is that SE bots might be the cause. We then entered into a discussion about whether or not it would be possible for this be the cause. Also we have continued to brainstorm about other ideas, such as internal queries or sp’s being a possible culprit.
Nobody is missing any credit for players or revshare. All things are ticking along normally outside of a handful of affiliates are getting some extra clicks/downloads showing up in their stats. If you feel that you are missing credit for a player or some related issue … email me / post and we’ll address that issue immediately.

Since you said , “I too…” I get that feeling like you were agreeing with Antoine … who is saying that his players continue to play month after month …
Obviously, you did not mean to agree with him – but I wanted to raise the point that we are NOT removing your players, and while I wish they would all stay forever … the reality is that there are plenty of offers/competition and, at least some, players will eventually move on and the reason will not be somebody cheating you, but rather natural business churn/attrition.
December 12, 2005 at 3:32 am #678378AnonymousInactiveYou know Ryan you have mentioned a few times now in your posts that this thread is about inflated hits, downloads and NOT players and credits. I am not sure why you keep emphasizing this when some affiliates have ‘voiced’ their concerns about “no activity, lack of registrations, earnings down, no players in months”, etc. Have you read these comments? And what about affiliate Cagney12? Those posts are pretty clear to me. Sounds like some serious concerns from that affiliate.
Couple of questions: How can you be 100% sure that everyone has been credited properly? Isn’t this a fair question considering the stats/dl issue has been going on for months and you still don’t have a handle on it?
Is if unfair of me to question this considering I haven’t had any earnings since July-the same time the downloads went crazy? Or is it just a coincidence? In fact the last player went away a winner. Yah I know it can happen but how often does a player win and not come back? This is all coincidence and I am wrong to question it? This drought includes the 75+ players I had with CC (and no I was not agreeing with Antoine, just offering a contrarying point of view regarding CC players).
Btw I did email you about a week ago.

lagunacat wrote:This is all coincidence and I am wrong to question it?I have not said anybody is wrong to raise questions or concerns. That’s the whole point, right??
lagunacat wrote:You know Ryan you have mentioned a few times now in your posts that this thread is about inflated hits, downloads and NOT players and credits.I have to do that, because some affiliates come in and simply skim the thread and if they see me active in a thread where somebody posts about stats issues – it might be misconstrued.
That said, it would appear that even some affiliates who post only skim the thread … so important to keep the issue focused.

We are constantly testing and all the tests are showing players tracking as expected. If you can bring an example to me where this is not happening I will take care of it at once.
2. Of course it’s a fair question. I totally agree. Is there some thread I posted in my sleep saying that I have a problem with you posting questions??
December 12, 2005 at 2:20 pm #678396AnonymousInactiveG’day Ryan,
It’s not looking good this month so far. I had installed the “rel=”nofollow” tag on all my links on both sites but as of today stats say 94 hits and 97 downloads.
It looks as though the new tag didn’t make any change – but I’ll ride it out till the end of the month and report again.

Sounds like I am not doing my job in this thread – which is to keep it on topic.
Actually, I have been getting confused about what the topic really is. Looking back over it, the predominant topic is an inflation of recorded downloads. Since there is not really a clear point after which everything is off topic, I can’t split the thread into two to accomodate different topics. So I guess we will have to muddle through.

Hi Guys,
Admittedly, the thread started as ‘downloads, but no real players’ … then I brought up the inflated/clicks downloads issue as an explanation for it…and the thread seems to have gone down the road of discussing that.
If affiliates are posting about ‘downloads, but no real players’ and feel their issue is unrelated to the ‘inflated clicks/downloads’, please say so & perhaps start a new thread…
Thanks all…
December 12, 2005 at 10:28 pm #678435AnonymousInactivedownloads and clicks to go hand and hand with earnings, does it not?
First you must have clicks, then downloads, then registered players, then depositing players. So this is all related to same issue. If these are not actual inflated clicks ( which appears to be what some are questioning ) then the concern is why is the earnings not what they should be.
No one here is in the business of just having downloads and clicks, not caring about if they purchased.

Hi ntaus,
Well, I do appreciate you making the effort and taking time to post the results. I know it took a lot of effort of your part to manually change the pages to use that modified link structure.
Shall I post my perl script to help you quickly change back if you decide to? It’s build for a *nix (linux, bsd, etc) environment, but … if your server/webhost is *nix, you can still make it work that way.
That said, having the rel=”nofollow” won’t hurt any of your sites to my knowledge … although you’ll have an extra page size of 14bytes x num of links to us …

Fair enough … but if anybody tests our setup with a real person you will find the tracking is working … and we do have the known issue of inflated clicks and downloads – since some are getting them without even advertising for us … so logically I would say it falls under the inflated clicks and downloads realm.
That said … I’m not trying to belittle the inflated clicks/downloads issue … we are actively working on this.
December 13, 2005 at 7:12 am #678464AnonymousInactiveIt seems that my earnings from Casino Rewards have gone way down. Don’t know what’s going on but need some help here please. :hithead:December 13, 2005 at 1:18 pm #678475AnonymousInactiveG’day Ryan,
Like I said I’ll ride it out to the end of the month and then we’ll see. 14 bytes are not much and if the tag doesn’t make any other difference, I just won’t worry about it.
Thanks for the offer, though.
