Can anyone recommend some tactics to be listed in DMOZ open directory ? Thanks
July 9, 2011 at 2:25 pm #817311abbykungMemberI think the easiest way is to pay $49 to submitedge.com and they will do this for you. Details are on this page – submitedge.com/dmoz_listing.html
Otherwise if you want to do it for free, just follow the suggestions that DMOZ give on their website. You have more of a chance of being accepted if your website is somehow unique, or offers something unique to the other listings already present.
One of my sites actually got accepted into the DMOZ directory in 2008. It stayed there for about 2 years before it was suddenly removed for no reason. Being in DMOZ isn’t necessarily permanent, and it doesn’t guarantee high Google rankings. I noticed no significant rank changes after I was accepted in DMOZ. Just wanted to point that out before you apply. Best of luck

Just submit your site yourself. If you get it then sweet, if not then just don’t worry about it.
July 13, 2011 at 3:07 pm #817379AnonymousInactiveNever ever ever pay or suggest payment for a DMOZ listing.
Doing so could cause your site and the network of sites it belongs to being banned from ever being listed in the directory.
The advice I can give you is ensure your site follows the listing guidelines for the category you apply for. Suggest a non promotional title and description and hit submit and then forget.
Seriously that is it. There is nothing more you can do.
Any site that states it can guarantee a listing in DMOZ is LYING.
July 13, 2011 at 4:44 pm #817385bluepironiMemberI have tried to do that organically like you recommended 1 year ago. I did not get any positive or negative answer. My site is Recommended online casinos at Casino Recommender . Could you please recommend me a title and a description for DMOZ review ?
Thanks
