It seems as though an affiliate program has stolen content that I wrote and then redistributed it via email to their affiliates and/or players as “promo” material for a new online slot that was released recently.
:madat: :madat: :madat:
I’m not going to name names at this point, because I am still in the process of contacting the affiliate program to find out exactly which crack pipe they were smoking at the time. :burnafatt
Seriously, though — this is my first and last warning about this: If anyone steals my reviews or screenshots, I will name and shame you in this forum, and I will ask affiliate managers here to shut down your accounts.
There is no excuse for stealing content that I worked very hard to create.
If you have stolen anything of mine, I suggest that you go and take it down today, before I find it. I’m on a “mission” now, and I don’t care who you are — if you have stolen any of my content, you’re going to regret it.
March 28, 2008 at 3:00 pm #764448hhyipstats111MemberThat’s interesting. I am very curious to know which affiliate program would work at this way?
I guess it’s a program which uses playtech or rtg.
March 28, 2008 at 3:17 pm #764450AnonymousInactiveThis is rare and needs to be stopped asap. The last time this happened to my knowledge is over 5 years back.
I hope it doesn’t turn out to be the same program.
March 28, 2008 at 5:33 pm #764458AnonymousInactiveYep people suck,, I wish affiliate programs would release details but they cant, and for good reasons as there are some people I would like to go find.
March 31, 2008 at 5:42 pm #764654AnonymousInactiveThe conclusion —
The affiliate program got back to me right away and assured me they would do a complete investigation, which they did that night. They reviewed all of their outbound email messages, as well as the outbound messages sent by other affiliate programs using the same casino software. Nothing of mine up in any of the messages.
This is a very reputable program, and I believe what they are telling me. This group (which I will not name) has always been straight up from the day I started working with them, and for them to steal my content and send it out in an email doesn’t really fit at all with their past history.
A CAP member (who I also trust) received the stolen content via email, and they thought it was promo material sent by the affiliate program. Unfortunately, that email has been deleted, so we can’t track the source.
I suppose it is possible that an affiliate manager from some other casino group did this on their own, with a personal email account, in an attempt to somehow damage the competition. This seems far-fetched and it doesn’t really make sense, but I can’t think of any other way to explain it.
If I find any more information about this, I’ll post here.
Also, if the above far-fetched scenario is true, and if the person responsible is reading this — please don’t ever do this again.
Next time (if there is a next time), I will catch you. :hattip:
