Hi
I think this is a great initiative and I will certainly urge others to join.
On the issue of getting the affiliate companies to sign up, I think as with any other organisation of tis nature they will have to if we create the demand. The more people joining, the more they will become obliged to join. I think it benefits them a lot more than they believe. But, you can undertstand their reluctance – this is the very first place that provides any sort of comparison.
Are you planning to promote the APCW at affiliate conferences?
I’m new to the marketing side of the industry (having built sofware and run administration in a previous life) but hope that over time i can contribute.
Now my question. I am looking to add a Microgaming group to my portfolio. For a variety of reasons I am not keen on Fortune and Mechanic. I am promoting Brighshare and Rewards, but conversion stinks. Any suggestions?
Any members going to Amsterdam?
Best regards
Red

sounds like you’ve got your priorities straight so far.
wagershare has been good to me in the past 4 months. they don’t convert well, in fact I’ve made 99% off spin palace with a couple of high rollers I’m pretty sure. I know one so anyway, it seems they’ve been honest about my commissions.
strangest thing about them, I can’t figure out for the life of me why conversions aren’t better, I think they’re site is one of the better ones on the net.
but anyway, I wouldn’t feel worried about sending a big player to them, which is more than I can say for a lot of places.
Well good luck with whoever you go with; and now you owe me one; so if you find a program that is treating you right; please let me know because I am in process of replacing most the places you just mentioned not wanting to use.

Thanks for your comments and enthusiasm!
On the issue of getting the affiliate companies to sign up, I think as with any other organisation of tis nature they will have to if we create the demand.
Very astute, and a thought that has crossed my own mind a few times.
Every now & then I get a surprise… I mean, Casino Rewards and Money Mechanic just found the site and joined all on their own… kudos to them for recognizing the need and, over time, potential PR bonanza.
The other current member programs had all given a tenative “yes” to APCW before it ever went online. I wrapped up support from those five programs in Montreal (June 2003) and Vegas (that September) before I cemented the structure for the project.
There are many quality programs out there whom I would LOVE to have join (for the mutual PR) who — for whatever reasons — either do not see a value at this time, or are really dragging their feet… to the point it looks like total non-interest! =0)
Are you planning to promote the APCW at affiliate conferences?
Oh yes. In fact, I came very VERY close to sponsoring an event at the upcoming iAfma cruise to the Bahamas… I changed my mind because: 1)Short conference ; 2)NOT gaming specific ; 3)Price ; 4)Herby never answered my email inquirey about sponsorship ; and, 5)I hear that some of the gaming companies slated to attend are re-considering…
Amsterdam? Probably not… Toronto? Too damned expensive for affiliate benefit… Vegas? Almost a definite yes…
As far as MG casinos, the best advice I can give you is that LOTS of people make tons of money with casinos I cannot give away free… but then, I make fist-fulls of cash that others can’t send a hit to…
Why? If you figure it out, let the rest of us know! LOL! If not, experiment until you find the one or two that do well for your site!
February 9, 2004 at 7:43 pm #644554AnonymousGuestHi there,
I beg to pardon sir; but twas I that sent Brent from CRewards; and he’ll verify that if asked.
now what do I win?
Is it the 2 weeks worth of advertising on your best site in the best spot?
that’s what I was shooting for.
February 9, 2004 at 9:12 pm #644558AnonymousInactiveWow, Steve… YOU told Brent who told Vickie who signed-up?
Thanks, man!
What do you win? How about I give you a public “Thanks, man!” over at CAP Message Boards?!
Seriously… I was considering yet another APCW function that you could have first dibs on: A quarterly ezine/newsletter that would feature opinon based news & reviews from affiliate managers and webmasters alike. Interested in being the first contributing webmaster? (if there is even an interest for the ezine at all)
February 9, 2004 at 9:25 pm #644560AnonymousGuestYOU told Vrnet who told Vickie who signed-up?
well now I don’t know.
cause I don’t even know who they are.
But I do know I told Brent and that he should go sign up there.
and he’ll tell you that.
********************
I was jus kiddin’ ya about the prize; I’m not sure what I’d say in the ezine until I saw what others were saying in it.
Now I’m going to tell you (in advance) so I get sure credit this time; I did email Tim at Wagershare to check you out.
don’t know if anything will come of it; but its done.
thanks Bud.

Your efforst are truly appreciated and above the call of duty! If I had 100 like you I would take over the world! (dub Pinky & the Brain Music here)
Rest assured, great things are on the horizon for APCW. All of you who are so important to the association in it’s infancy will be remembered….
