CasinoWebcam and Home Gambling Network Announce Patent
CasinoWebcam, the leader in live online gaming software and the Home Gambling Network have entered into an exclusive license agreement for U.S. patent 5,800,268, which covers ‘the method of remote wagering on live games and events utilizing electronic transactions, and its corresponding foreign patents pending in Europe, Australia and Canada.’
This comes after a court case last year in which HGN were forced to take legal action against DrHo.com over patent infringement. Under the terms of the agreement, CasinoWebcam has the ‘exclusive, worldwide right to sub-license HGN’s patents to gaming operators, and will cooperate (with them) fully in their efforts to enforce the patent.’
Mel Molnick, President of Home Gambling Network, is clearly pleased with the decision: ‘CasinoWebcam is clearly the leader in live online gaming software and its licensees will now benefit from the protection that our patents afford. We look forward to expanding the market for live online gaming in cooperation with CasinoWebcam.’
