Casino Rewards have never been my best program, but they always provided a decent check at the end of the month. That is until a fellow member of CAP ignored my request and contacted Brent and indicated directly/indirectly that I was testing his program. They had also posted in the public area here that testing was going on.
For 2 1/2 years I averaged $1400+ a month with Casino Rewards – My best month was about $3400 my worse was around $800. After receiving an email from Brent in October about the testing inference my stats dropped to >$700 in October and then in November they dropped to $230 I then started removing their links due to the screwing and Gareth stating on CAP that their conversions sucked and that retention was good. So far this month December, I am in the negative – I have NEVER in 3 years had a negative month with CR NEVER!!!!
I should note that during the last three years my profits were always more or less the same average regardless of sending 3500 hits or 300 – I would always make about the same profits. I had always found that to be very fishy – now after making around $1400 +/- average for nearly 3 years I am being screwed up the ass by Casino Rewards!
So if retention is so good according to Gareth why have I seen a sudden drop off? If I have averaged more or less the same for almost 3 years WHY have I seen a sudden drop off? THERE CAN ONLY BE 1 ANSWER! THEY ARE CROOKS!
:flamer: :flamer: :flamer: :flamer:
I wanted to post here first – I intend on taking this before the public in the near future!

InactiveI don’t necessarily agree.
Think of a player as a person who has a favorite restaurant serving his favorite food. There may be little reason for him to eat elsewhere at first, but pretty soon other restaurants offer the same food, perhaps with better service, and the person soon decides it’s time to explore elsewhere a bit.
I know I have players moving around various casinos – they often go back to their favorite but in the long run income at that casino starts to decrease because they are spending some of their money elsewhere.
My income at any one casino or group still fluctuates wildly because of the activity of one or more big players – much as I hate that, I accept that this is the norm for this industry.
The one group I consistently get negatives at – believe it or not – is one of the ones I trust the most! It’s certainly not an issue of retention or traffic – for whatever reason, I keep getting pounded at Trident!

InactiveI could accept that as a possible explanation if it werent for averaging a decent profit for nearly 3 years straight month in and month out then dropping off the face of the earth. It would be one hell of a mind blowing coincidence.
You dont get called out for testing and then drop off into steady oblivion over the next three months! If the timing of these events is all coincidence then I guess Ill be a monkeys ass and that the previous three years at CR and my sites, my traffic, and other results are all a dream!

InactiveCan’t argue about coincidence… LOL… but I’d have to say I find it a bit unlikely that they would cut you off just like that.
One way to get a hint is to check the daily activity of the group, then of each casino – and then do the same for the previous months – then you can see where the activity stopped.
If it stopped at one casino, or slowed down, you’d be able to pinpoint a possible problem.
If, however, the entire group showed a dramatic shift, you’d certainly have grounds for a major issue – exactly what issue, I don’t know.

Arkyt, I love you, I respect you, and I have always been fond of your refreshing forthrightness, but I am going to have to set this straight.
I was not testing for you, I was testing for me. I was not testing CR, I was testing the casino for customer service. Since you happened to be testing CR at the same time, I offered to use your link and report to you to help your testing along. I did not accept any money from you, I conducted my own test with my own money. I merely sent you a note whenever I used the account so you could have a better test base.
I happened to win $1000 while testing Yukon Gold. Yukon refused to pay me without my sending along certain documents, which I would not do. I held my peace since many casinos ask for this, but I did tell other players about it. A player decided to go and talk to support about sending in papers and sent me a transcript that basically said that papers were NOT required except under special circumstances, arbitrary circumstances.
This pissed me off because I certainly had not previously played there, am not a bonus abuser – I just played and hit a royal. So why would I be selected for this? Maybe they just didn’t want to pay. Anyway – this arbitrary demanding of documents is BS, either they are required or not. :shooter:
Next Arkyt tells me that my win was deducted from his pay even though I wasn’t being paid. That pissed me off worse. :flamer:
I DID talk to Brent. I did NOT at any time infer I was testing for Arkyt because it would have been a lie. Why would I do that? I was testing for myself and I said so. Actually, I usually tell managers the results of my tests. They should know what the casinos do.
I did mention that I used Arkyt’s site and that I asked him and he told me that the win was deducted from his earnings.
This does NOT constitute my telling anyone I was testing for Arkyt, directly or indirectly – because it simply wasn’t true. I was testing Yukon, and I found something fishy, and (following my dad’s old advice) I went to the person in the outfit who had the most to lose if I got pissed at them – Brent. I tested Yukon and two irregularities showed up and I complained. I would do it again. I don’t do well sitting still watching BS.
How it came to be that Arkyt was under the impression that I had told Brent anything about anything but my own testing and what all happened in connection with it, I do not know.
As far as the public post – I was under the impression it was private because of the topic. I have always found it confusing that we have a “general discussion” in both sections, and Lou is my witness that I have made worse blunders than this mistaking one for the other. I will likely fall in that trap again sooner or later, although I do try to remember to always scroll up to the top and make sure I know which general discussion I am posting in.
With that said, I find it disgusting that CR would have the nerve to remove players from Arkyt’s account because he is testing. They should be glad someone is testing if they have nothing to hide. When I test programs or casinos I always inform them of the results. I have never suffered anything for it.

InactiveI honestly forgive you dom – I did the day after it happened. I however must connect the circumstances like a dot-to-dot as the level of concidence would be way to high for me to believe other wise.
I surmise that I will never again see a month of 1400+ … if thats not a clear cut indicator of cheat then I dont know what is!
You helped me drop crooks and for that I should be thankful. Ive already matched and surpassed that monthly check within two months at a competitor – thanks.

InactiveI sent Brent & Gareth an email the other day stating that I wasnt happy with the sudden drop in earnings. Furthermore, I indicated that I suspected that it was a result of the debacle outlined above.
I ended my letter with “thanks hope you have a wonderful Christmas season with all my shaved earnings!”
Gareth replied “Merry Xmas Brian.”
LMAO! How nice of him
I really appreciate the support Im getting from my fellow CAP members on this issue :unhappy: this to me is obvious cheating and I am seeing no one standing up to at very least acknowledge something isnt right. :unhappy:
Oh well Im used to it – screwed again just like I did by Marlo and Jonathan – exact same things happened with both of those programs and no one came to my defense with them either. F’ it!
December 16, 2004 at 11:27 pm #658945Anonymous
InactiveWhy, I recall Marlo getting a pretty good beating here, and I for one have not sent them one visitor since. (well, there are always the residuals, but with their lousy stats I can’t tell whether there even are any of those.)
I also recall CR not being treated too kindly on the public section. You have a lot of people who agree about them.
December 17, 2004 at 3:07 am #658950Anonymous
Inactiveyah Marlo took a good beating – course hes still listed as a “certified” member here.
I just feel so alone here – if I dont see another dime from CR I have lost a good sum of money !!!! 1400/12mo = 16,800 a year :unhappy: thats a lot of money to steal from someone!

GuestArk your situation with CR DID NOT fall on deaf ears.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that has followed this matter with great interest.
As for the leak by a CAP member, I remind you that I had made accidently posted in the public area some things that were meant for the private (I had more than one window open and got confused as to which I was responding).
That stayed up for at least 5 min time in which case anybody could have had access. And I feel very responsible.
as to CR, everybody I talked with has been having a bad month with them, and in fact in my case, things have not been very good for some time now, as I have in years past made the majority of my income from one casino; that being Zodiac.
Now you want to talk coincidence; I made a post stating I was tired of carrying non-producing sister-sites and that very month Zodiac dropped to making near nothing (and has never recovered, although this month it looks promising for a change) but the other properties starting making money. But the next month, and ever since then, my main money is made at SIL. go figure?
Now during this dry spell for Zodiac which lasted about 4 months, I’m starting to think “what the hell is going on? I’ve sent them the majority of my traffic for near on 3 years and they drop off the map like that?”
I don’t have an answer for these things, but I’m inclined to think … no, I know that CR’s support needed major overhaul from some situations to which I was able to follow the entire process. And I wasn’t very impressed. And I wrote Brent telling him so; and he later reported back that they were addressing some matters I’d wrote about:
…. and that’s about the last I’ve heard about it.
So I’ve no idea what was done, if anything, but you can bet that any retention hopes prior to a change of attitude by the support people; will be few and far between.
In other words anybody that has already been turned off by CR, probably isn’t going back. Nobody more than myself wishes that statement false; but I think it has to be given some merit.
Another thing ; and I’ve written Brent; is ecogra. They’re not approved.
Whether or not ecogra is all that it claims, or not; remains to be seen IMHO. But from players perspective, they’re likely going to take what is perceived to be their best chance at a fair shake; so that might also be hurting CR right now.
I’ve been in your situation more than once and can say that I’ve had to take my foot out of my mouth at least one of those times, so don’t give up all hope just yet.
***************
to return to my original thought about not falling on deaf ears; your situation certainly has been a deciding factor for me when I add into the equation all of the above concerns I mentioned; as to how much space they are currently getting.
And yes I found it rather strange that I wasn’t climbing to greater heights as time carried on; and that more than anything has influenced the amount of space I’ve given them (currently).
I’m neither condemning nor cheering CR at this point in time; but am rather to be quite frank; treading cautiously to see what the near future will reveal and I hope it will give me some hints on how to proceed in respect to my relationship with CR.
I like Brent and I hope it is promising. But my decision will ultimately be financially based, as it should be.
I hope the best for you Ark and I hope the future proves that CR didn’t just turn off your income; and that instead you’re in here eating crow (as I know you’d be big enough to do) some time in Feb or March to tell us how Garth had some merit to his statements because you were still seeing some decent income.
I hope I’m here with a big serving for me as well.

MemberI have always said Casino Rewards stats are psychotic. I only look at the bottom line with these guys and after three years its hasnt varied by more then a few hundred dollars each month. I think the implications are clear. There isnt much anyone can do about it with them as I dont feel they are terribley concerned about losing you (or I) as an affiliate.
Wish I had a better answer, but I dont.
December 17, 2004 at 2:56 pm #658970Anonymous
InactiveVery well said Professor! I have had the same experience with CR. In fact Brent has never call me even when I had ask him to by e-mail. They had run a 60% promotion a while back and did not pay the proper amount based on that promotion. Cr probally did not pay anyone the proper amount. CR’s exposure has been droping over the past year at my sites and will continue. CR (Brent) does not seem to care one way or another. Best thing is to move on to greener pastures.

InactiveIt is always amazing to me how some of the managers just don’t care.
They must be doing better with media buys someplace than with affiliates.

InactiveThanks everyone for comforting me in my time of sorrow …
Yes, I averaged pretty close to the same amount for three years that in itself always was an enigma to me, but I was content with getting the check at the end of the month.
At the time I was working in an architects office making another healthy check at the end of each month. I left that job in March of this year to do this full time when things started picking up thanks to a few honest programs
I will keep you all updated by posting my stats at the end of each month at least over the next 3-4 months. If I remain at zero/negative over the next three months after averaging 1400 for three straight years I dont know what I’ll do – I know what Id do if someone broke into my home and stole 17,000 from me and thats what they are stealing from me in yearly profits.
I should note that I added Vegas Affiliates in October after this all came about and already I am making more than my CR average
with steady growth each month.
Again thanks everyone – Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

InactiveI’ve been a friend of VA for some time. Pierrick is squeaky clean as far as I can tell, and he works really hard at improving the program. It used to have a lot of problems and they are all gone, except for the late payments. I think he is working on improving that now.
