Casino Gambling Web successfully delivered 435 informational packets to every US representative in Congress on Friday of last week. The packets contained the petition to repeal the UIGEA that the site sponsored, as well as a guide of 10 reasons why Internet gambling should be legalized, as well as a CD that contained all the testimony from the Financial Services Committee hearing on if Internet gambling could be sufficiently regulated at this time.

Now it’s time for everyone we went to Washington D.C. to fight for to start calling their congressmen and women to express their support for our efforts.

Question – As im always discussing items with my reps…. is there a name this package is under as we should all write to these guys to insist they at least review the packet and understand it had value.

Yes, there is a name you should refer to the packet, as – ‘The IGREA Initiative’. This is very important. You should say that a packet of papers was delivered on your behalf and ask if they recieved it. Once they say that they received it say how you strongly support the ‘IGREA Initaitive’ and that you would like them to sign on to co-sponsor Barney Frank’s bill HR 2046.

We delivered all the packets, mainly to secrataries, so it is important to follow up and ask if the congress person has had a chance to review the ‘IGREA Initiative’. If they haven’t yet, tell them you will call back in a couple days so that he/she has a chance to look the packet over.

We were told the most important part of this effort is the follow up calls and being that there are 435 congress people it will be difficult for us to call everyone, although we will try.

Professor, while we at CGW sincerely appreciate everyone’s appreciation, our efforts will be in vain if they are not backed up by a large scale phone calling campaign by people expressing their support for ‘The IGREA Initiative’. We had meetings with several prominent people in Washington who are lending their support in their own way, and we also spoke extensively with John Pappas from the PPA. We are hoping that the PPA will make calling their reps in support of the IGREA Initiative a big aspect of their near future iternaries.

We shall see what happens and in the meantime we will keep an eye on new co-sponsors signing on to Frank’s bill.

Also, the most important people to call and get on board with Frank’s bill are those in the Financial Services Committee. So if you are going to call make those members first on your list.

Here is an article we just released with all the phone numbers to all those representatives.

    IGREA Gets 37th Co-Sponsor

You guys don’t really have to read the article linked above, just wanted to let everyone know the 37th co-sponsor, William Delahunt, has signed to co-sponsor Frank’s bill HR 2046.

On Monday, Congressman William Delahunt [MA-10], member of the House Judiciary Committee, House Committee on Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights, and Oversight, signed on to co-sponsor Chairman Barney Frank’s bill H.R. 2046 to become the 37th Representative to join Frank in an effort to regulate Internet gambling and negate the effects of the UIGEA, which among other things, restricts individual personal freedoms.
