The part about not always getting in in jeans for example sounds quite worrisomeIf the venue is hired privately it shouldn’t be a problem – I have checked the Fire & Ice party on the Wednesday and that is fine as is the Friday Gnuf.com opening party – In fact Gnuf told me “you can wear what ever you like as Gnuf is the home of play”.
The Thursday & Saturday partys are confirming venues at the moment so I should hear soon on those. Sunday will be fine for what ever.
On a seperate note most bars/clubs in London are ok with jeans these days as long as they aren’t falling to bits – They tend to have a gripe with trainers but that is about all.
January 10, 2007 at 10:15 am #721816AnonymousInactiveI vote for the Walkabout, as well. Love that place! :capmiami:
January 10, 2007 at 12:20 pm #721826AnonymousInactivethanks Alex for your post, keep us updated pls.
January 10, 2007 at 1:21 pm #721837AnonymousInactiveSo how about we all meet there and then folks can split off to do walkabouts and parties and whatever else is up for them?
(That means you get to be there too Trish!)
That way Gertrude and other wayward wanderers will know where to go to catch their walkabout groups, party revelers will be able to travel together, and loud music haters will be able to meet with everyone and have a quiet place to talk.
Makes sense to me.
Let me know, if enough people want to do it I”ll reserve the space.
January 10, 2007 at 2:01 pm #721844AnonymousInactiveOK – 6pm at the Holland Court on Friday 26th it is Map?
I guess if anyone’s worried about recognising anyone, go to the bar, close your eyes and listen. Then when you’ve found Dom, you’ve found us all
January 10, 2007 at 2:06 pm #721846AnonymousInactiveLol!
The beauty of it is that I think there will hardly be anyone but us there. It’s a quiet place, not an entertainment hub.
Map:

The Holland Court Hotel is situated at the Kensington end of the Holland Road. The Holland Road connects Kensington and Sheperds Bush.
The Hotel is a short walk from Kensington Olympia underground and Eurostar Station, Earls Court Underground Station and High Street Kensington Underground Station.

January 10, 2007 at 4:17 pm #721874BingoRoyaltyMemberHi Guys,
I’ll probably end up at the Shepherds Bush Walkabout especially since it’s Australia Day.
I don’t really rate the place in regards for a quite place to chat. It will be full of messy Aussies, Kiwis and Saffas.
It’s great place though to drink lots of beer and watch sport.
See you all at CAPEURO.
January 10, 2007 at 6:16 pm #721894AnonymousInactiveOk, Ira at the Holland Court says she is afraid that there may not be enough room. Instead she suggests a pub straight across the street, the Crown & Sceptre, which she says is quiet and had lots of good food and drink.
So I suggest we do that as a launching point.

Sounds good to me, although hotels are usually guaranteed to be music free and quieter. Actually, the bar at the Royal Gardens hotel where Spear is staying is quite large, comfortable and quiet – been there for meetings before now. Just a thought.
January 10, 2007 at 6:42 pm #721912AnonymousInactiveMy vote would be for the Walkabout in Covent Garden. We have had many good parties there over the years and most people that have been visiting ICE regularly will know the place
January 10, 2007 at 7:13 pm #721923AnonymousInactiveI’d like to celebrate Australia Day with Trish and the other Aussies, but I’d also like to meet up with Dom and a few other webmasters for some quiet discussions.
Right now it looks like both of these are planned for 6:00 on Friday, is this correct?
Dom, what if we had a quiet webmaster meeting on Sunday instead? The CAP schedule is pretty empty on Sunday. Since Australia Day is on Friday (only), I’d like to do that first (starting around 6:00), then I’m going to an 8:00 party somewhere else, and then (if I’m still standing), I’ll make my way over to the CAP opening party at “Venue Pending.” Anyone know when and where that’s going to be?
January 10, 2007 at 7:20 pm #721928freddypmMemberyeah its at the RX – RoyaleXchange , big shopping place they are fixing up just for us.pretty awesome venue IMO as i know london well having got family there
