Has anyone found good hotel rates for this yet? I checked on flights and they’re not cheap, so I’m hoping we can get a good hotel deal. It will make my decision to attend much easier.

    Thanks

    Hey Fonzi –

We have sorted the resort hotel at a rate of 100 euro per person based on 2 people in a double/twin (60 Euro single supplement) – but also have hotels nearby that will be both less and more – e.g. we had a quote today that was 70 euro a night.

We are still developing the Spring Break site but the Poker conference site is almost done and the hotel details are the same so see here for details http://www.pokerconference.com/hotelandtravel.html

Finally re flights – I am not 100% but it may be worth looking at sorting a cheap flight to London and then buying a flight to Cyprus from there seperately as the flights from London are pretty cheap – Have a look at EasyJet I believe they are starting flights there in March/April –

I am going to stop over in London for a few days on the way back to break up the return trip and avoid a 14 hour lay over. Its a great excuse to see London anyway and I bet its cheaper to book then choosing tickets to and from Cyrus.

    Guys if I can make a suggestion…

If you are coming to the PokerConference and CAP Springbreak you can cut your hotel expenses in half by rooming with another attendee. It’s fun and its a great money saver. In the past when Mrs Professer didnt come with me I always did that and stayed with a few members here at CAP (Shhhh… Dont tell them I snored).

We can set up a room mates thread if you guys are interested.

Remember 95% of your time will be sent at parties, networking events, on the beach, in one of the resorts bars etc… You arent going to spend a lot of time in your room anyway.

Excellent, I have a mate with a flat in Nicosia. Is the conference going to located around Nicosia?

    Hi Pete,

Sasha here, event and logistics manager for all the CAP events. When i was over in Cyprus a few weeks ago sorting out all the venues i took a cab from Nicosia to the Grand Resort and it cost 70 euros and took about 40 mins. It is probably a bit too far to commute from everyday.

    Sorry about that!

    Sasha

Wow! Didn’t realise Cyprus was so big. Sasha just heard the resort is filling up so I would advise you book your rooms soon – I will find out exactly where we are on rooms later.

Another tip – Keep an eye on this thread at PAP because it is also covering Cyprus and the poker conference which will be well worth attending the day before not just because it is FREE to yuou guys but because Jeremy is planning some really exciting speakers and the ASOP starts on that day in the poker expo room

So what is the format of ASOP this time around? Normal tournament instead of the double shoot out we’ve all learned to love? ;)

You guys ever coming back to this side of the world? (USA – I know not here but Caribbean or something would be awesome) We normally bring 4-5 people in our crew which relates to $7600 to $9500 in airfare alone. :(

I need a second job, who is hiring? :)

P.S. We did air the final table of the ASOP Live on Rounder’s Radio.

I’m gonna agree with Ace here, This is getting a bit too expensive. How about Antigua or Costa Rica next year.
