Just read on one site that local beer is around C£1 and a bottle of local wine is C£2.50 – Exchange rate is one Cyprus pound to 1.27 UK pounds – Happy days!!! All drinks on me well!!

We have this in writing now – this is legal and binding :)

CAP Spring Break will be a lot of fun and quite cheap this year

    Hi Raymond

Limassol is located in between both Larnaca and Paphos so the good news is you can go to either airport they are both of equal distance to Limassol.

Hey There Raymond – How Was South Africa – Did you do well in the poker?

Regarding Cyprus – So you know the resident experts on Cyprus are

    Julia @ PurpleLounge
    Josh @ Prime Gaming
    Margaret @ PKR
    The Guys at BGroom/RedKings
The guys at Affiliate Speed Card (you can actually go into your bank!)

    Anyone else?

Here is the basic line up for the week – I already have two evening parties sponsored and a lunch party on the beach so it is looking like it is going to be an amazing event. Websites should be sorted next week with all the information:

    Mon 19th May
    Poker Conf set-up day
    Delegates Arrive on island
    Opening Party

    Tues 20th May
Day 1 of Poker Conference 2008
    ASOP (PM)
    Evening Party

    Wed 21st May
Day 2 of Poker Conference 2008
Early Afternoon – CAP Spring Break registration
    ASOP (PM)
    Opening Party CAP SpringBreak

    Thurs 22nd May
    CAP Spring Break
    ASOP Final Table (Late PM)

    Fri 23rd May
    Cap SpringBreak

    Sat 24th May
Delegates leave or stay for the weekend.

I am thinking of flying to Israel on the Friday before as I have promised sooo many people I will go there one day and then come across to Cyprus on the Monday – Apparently it is like a 40 minute flight or something from Isreal to Cyprus! Easy.

Well hopefully you will get your own back with those kings in the ASOP in Cyprus – This time around we are giving a WSOP main event seat as the ASOP first prize along with a bigger and better bracelet!!! Just wish I could play now!!
We had to come up with an idea after the Cyriot governement said we couldn’t give any money away but I think this is a brilliant alternative especially if they go on to win :3eyes:

How about WSOP side events ($1500 buy in events and the likes) for final table finishers?

    :wink-wink

Lately, I’ve been in frequent communication with Warren, Alex and Sasha of late in order to assist as much as possible with this event. I’ve been living on this beautiful island for over two years and in that time, have met many people. Chris Panayiotou, who is a Cyprus native and my COO has served as a fixer for both us and Red Kings for the past several years. Things that would normally have taken months have literally been taken care of via one phone call.

To give you some background, Cyprus is a small country in the middle of the Mediterranean it’s in close proximity to Israel (30 minute flight away), Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, and various other interesting places. Just over 800,000 people live here but in the summer, it is host to over 3 million people at any given time. Most people here speak very reasonable English so you won’t have a problem communicating either.

There is a place here called Ayia Napa which is on the far east tip of the Island. I would encourage you to explore this place before or after the event as it is easily on par with Ibiza and a lot less expensive. Crime does not exist here in the sense you are familiar with either. I leave the keys to my motorcycle in it all day and nobody has ever laid a hand on it. I have never heard of someone being mugged or of a home being broken into.

I would recommend extending your trip to explore the Middle East a bit if time allows. I’ve been living this side of the earth for nearly 5 years now and I can tell you that it’s a unique experience that will change your life. Ask Becca, she will tell you. I would especially recommend a trip to Israel as you likely have many friends there already :)

We’re located and live in Limassol where the event will be held and are friendly with all the nightlife people and even the persona non grata. We’re all looking forward to welcoming you and want to extend our aid to anyone who needs it. Should you have any trouble with anyone or just need some general assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact either Chris or I and we will take care of it. There’s nobody in Limassol that we don’t know. We’re very honoured that Warren, Alex and Sasha have decided to host Spring Break in Cyprus and we intend to go out of our way to make sure it happens again.
