I have always pushed for New Orleans!

I think we should definitely think about it for next year.

Firing all those cops is not very encouraging right now.

So when i moved to canada, i never knew the whole country were such wimps about the cold and everyone wants to move somewhere warm! I guess people in Michigan, Minnesota and Maine are of heartier stock!:rollover:

Well my 5yr old daughter has now become truely Canadian: “i’m not going live here when i grow up, i want to live someplace warm”

I liked south beach, lou mentioned the fountainbleu (or however it’s spelled)

I heard several people talking at the airport and they were saying that the fontainbleu was way inferior to Loewe’s on all counts. I vote for Loewe’s again.

However the Deuxfontaines restaurant – we’ve got to remember to go on lobsterfest day when you get two lobsters for the price of one. Pretty much the best darn lobsters around, too.

I’m getting in the mood already….

Ok its official. We are doing Maimia Beach.

The fountainbleu is nicer then Loewes, but unfortunately it wasnt available on the dates we needed. Loewes didnt have meeting space available either.

Since the weather is a LOT nicer in May its difficult to find a venue large enough for our group that has onsite dining, meeting space for 100+ people, onsite bar, high speed internet, is oceanfront and has a nice pool area.

Two affiliate managers that we checked with wanted the Delano, but rooms there were $670 a night (without balconies!).

We finally decided on The Palms as meeting all our requirements, having a great location and rooms are only $185. I will be posting details tomorrow or Monday.

Have we confirmed the dates yet? The GIGSE in Montreal is May 16,17 and 18th and many will probably be attending that as well.

The ocean view rooms do almost make up for the lack of balconies…almost.

The remainder looks really great. I will have to have a peek around though to see if I can’t round up an oceanview balcony someplace…

with the size of the group we should be able to get a very good rate at Atlantis on Paridise Island Bahamas. this is the top rated resort in the Bahamas and I have attended conferences there and the room rate was less than $200. It is less than an hour flight from Miami and not held in the US (British isl).

Makes sense, safer and beautiful resort.

I would really like to do the Bahamas or something like that for a change.
