Also it’s worth noting that you can still get rooms at the Hesperia, just not at the CAP Euro discounted rate.
August 29, 2007 at 6:22 pm #747232AnonymousInactiveHi Alex if you can let me know the URL for that apartment place…that would be great..also I sent you a PM on the A4u forum…cheers mate.
Its my first time to Barcelona…so I’m probably going to stay around Las Ramblas…does anyone know how far the conference venue would be from here? Or what is the best method of getting there. ie the metro or a taxi?
Cheers!

Have replied to PM now – Site we used was http://www.oh-barcelona.com
Not sure about best routes in terms of metro or taxis – I have used both in Barcelona and never had problems but only taxis to get to this hotel – I will get our contact at the hotel to let us know what is easiest as well as the estimated cost.
August 29, 2007 at 8:10 pm #747244AnonymousInactiveI was poking around before deciding on Fira suites – there are a ton of places renting appartments for short periods. Seems to be a booming business there. Just google apart hotel barcelona at google and you will stumble across listings.
August 31, 2007 at 2:54 pm #747469AnonymousInactiveWe have a 4th hotel! The Prestige is still availible and we are adding the AC Som – Details will go up on the website today but here is the cutting
Both of the hotels are just a 5 minute taxi journey away from the Tower which will cost less than €5. Walking is not advised as you would need to cross the Gran Via which is the main motorway from the airport into the city. Should you wish to book one of these, again, please email your details to to [email protected] or call Margaret Croxson on 00 44 (0) 1628 484614, quoting the name of the hotel and CAP Barcelona
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE HOTELS DIRECTLY AS THEY WILL TELL YOU THEY ARE FULLY BOOKED AS WE HAVE BOTH OF THESE TOTALLY ON HOLD!

September 10, 2007 at 9:51 am #748280AnonymousInactiveI have just been told the Prestige and AC Som have also sold out and the Torre Catalunya is on reqyest only. There is still rooms at the Tryp but we are looking to also get another hotel more in town. It will be a bit more of a distance (about 5-10 mins in a cab and about 8 Euro) but it will at least offer you another alternative
