Hello All!
Just a quick introduction before I give you some new juicy details on our CAP events in 2005.
My name is Shanon and I work with the guys at Affiliate Programs Network, which is affiliated with Casino Affiliate Programs. My associate Jake and I have been working with the CAP team to build a stronger network web presence and enhance our product offerings. We are extremely excited to be a part of the team and hope to meet all of you at upcoming events.
Now on to the good stuff – I will be working with Professor to plan, manage and promote upcoming CAP events in Miami and Las Vegas.
Right now we have set the dates, which will be:
Affiliate Spring Break in Miami – South Beach
June 17 – 20, 2005
Hotel: n/a – Loew’s is a good contenderCAP Affiliate Conference in Las Vegas
September 13 – 18, 2005
Hotel: The VenetianI am happy to confirm that we are planning to work with each hotel directly to set aside a block of rooms at a fixed rate for you to reserve.
To guarantee that this is an awesome time, we are asking all of you to submit your ideas on preferred event activities, contests, discussion topics, restaurants, bars..please send all your ideas! Once we have gathered some general ideas, we will poll everyone and make decisions based on the results.
We want both of these events to be excellent and your ideas will help us make them the best of the year! Please post ideas within this thread. Thanks!
Curious as to what happens in general at the conferences… being as I have never attended one, and I DON’T gamble, I’m curious as to whether I’d be left in the hotel room all day, or if there is a crew of people that like to simply “get it on” (party) and chat.
What to bring?
I may have to make that Vegas event – especially if I don’t make it to Amsterdam.

Bernie the CAP breaks are informal gatherings. The only scheduled events tend to be dinners and a cocktail hour or two. Last year in Miami we had an attorney speak to us about the current state of affairs regarding legislation and legal considerations for affiliates, we plan on inviting him to speak again this year. We also went deep sea fishing, but the seas were a little rough so we may stick to land based activities in Miami this year.
This time around we are planning on golf challenges in Las Vegas and Miami (if we have enough people interested).
The reason we keep the schedule so open is to allow the maximum amount of time for networking. This is truly what conferences and breaks offer. The chance to meet up with affiliates you chat with all year. To discuss how to grow our businesses and to meet the affiliate managers we work with or would like to work with. EVERYONE always goes home with a few new deals and a ton of fond memories (along with the requisite hang overs and party war stories!).
It’s a lot of fun, it bonds friendships, it increases business and its tax deductible. I think if you come to just one of our breaks you’ll be hooked.
Unlike some other gatherings, you wont just sit silently in a circle with a handful of sour pusses in an empty room with nothing to eat or drink. We P-A-R-T-Y and make it happen! :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:
I don’t gamble either and haven’t sat around in the Hotel room yet. I keep saying that it’s really not worthwhile to get a super Hotel room – one doesn’t spend any time there anyway. And in Vegas you don’t get minibars – so that even cuts out the night cap. (Unless you plan ahead)
It’s important that the Hotel has a good, large bar that everyone can hang around and meet at.
The lectures vary in how much they apply to you – I have never yet walked away without either having had one of the lectures trigger a good idea for some new approach, or refine something already in my head.
Really, it’s our conference, and we should give Marc input as to what we want to see there, not just criticize what he comes up with.
I like Amsterdam a lot better – in Vegas everything seems to consist of slotmachines – Amsterdam is an exciting and vibrant city. But then I think most people like Vegas better because of the gambling and the shows.
Ooops, the professor and I posting at the same time. I got side tracked by the mention of Amsterdam – one of my favorite cities.
Hey, no one sits in their room at CAP events either.
Regarding the fishing – I still want to go again. I loved every moment of it. Maybe some hardy souls will go with me?
We affiliates are a great group of people – and I have to say, the managers know how to have fun too. It is fun, profitable and as the professor points out, tax deductible.
Dom we are talking about the CAP event in Las Vegas not Marc’s. The suggestions and input would be for what we do at the CAP breaks not CAC. I am sure Marc already has his event fully scheduled.

You would love Las Vegas! There is so much more to do than gamble. We all do alot of partying also. :cheers:Yes, it’s that time of year again!
Don’t worry about things to do Bernie, just bring your SPF 30 and a fresh bottle of asprin (for the next mornings) and you’ll have a great time. The only reason you would be stuck in your room is if you meet a lovely, ah say German girl – wink wink, who want’s a personal tour of your crib.

They let me attend last year, so you’re a shoe-in to have fun! LOL!
When I went there was beach time, jet ski time, great food, a little bit of learning, and a poker event by Fortune… I had a blast.
Just don’t let Dom talk you into the f—-n’ boat ride!!!!! :crazy:

A dinner cruise that stays on the bayside would be great! Fishing on the bayside is excellent too.
Unfortunately once you go out into the atlantic the waters get a little rough and if your not used to get tossed around its easy to get sea sick.

I was mearly focusing on the horizon while trying to move as little as possible for three solid hours…
…and my face looked green because of the sea salt spray. 🙁

Golfing sounds great – just make sure clubs can be rented – I don’t feel like checking mine :laughing:
I know several people dont like to gamble – but maybe an informal CAP poker tourney would suffice? Maybe an entry fee of $5-$10 and CAP matches the total entry fee
Of course dinners and late night parties would be a must – networking is a must. Maybe we could create CAP awards – much like any business does at company parties – most likely to succeed, best smile, best jokes, best dancer, biggest boozer – I have no real ideas just a basic concept :laughing:

oh my goodness J Todd, you did an admirable job keeping watch on that horizon, and the contents of your stomach inside your stomach while Islandman and I proceeded to drink every beer they had in that cooler. even the pony bottles.
you were quite the trooper, i wished you could have enjoyed that fishing trip as much as i did. what a blast!
