Now i am confused, Oktoberfest and Munich, i thought u ment Germany?
September 12, 2006 at 8:43 pm #705787AnonymousInactiveWe did. And Munich is also the home of the real Hofbrauhaus.
But – wouldn’t you know it, Vegas also has a Hofbrauhaus, as well as an Eiffeltower etc etc.
So the guys who are now in Vegas are heading for the Hofbrauhaus there.
Properly confused yet?
September 12, 2006 at 9:10 pm #705790AnonymousInactivety Dom, it explains all:)
i vote for the Munich in Germany,
maybe on a campsite, with a bunfire….:bunfire smilie to be inserted by Dominique:

You had plenty of time to do so and you had to see the writing on the wall. Had you moved it to Canada in October for example, everyone would have attended and enjoyed the event. Vancouver is 3 hours north of Vegas and is a gorgeous city. But that is neither here nor there. Here here Riccardo. The writing was on the wall back then. At the end of the day, it isn’t Marc’s ass on the line.
Should the industry be looking to itself to run their own conferences from now on (like more CAP Spring Breaks) rather than have someone with very little industry knowledge try to dictate and belittle us?
September 13, 2006 at 1:43 am #705818AnonymousInactiveHi there!
Hofbrauhaus was great fun but we definitely need to take up Kevin’s offer and do the real thing in Germany!
The story
A Vegas event organizer told an operator, whose event he was organizing in Vegas for this week, that his relative from the Vegas Sheriff’s Office told him that there are approximately 400 warrants to arrest people for their involvement in online gaming in the US.
Possibilities
1. There are 400 warrants in the Vegas Sheriff’s Office to arrest online gaming operators/people at the CAC event – this isn’t what was said.
2. There are 400 warrants in the Vegas Sheriff’s Office to arrest online gaming operators/people coming into Vegas this week – this isn’t what was said.
3. There are 400 warrants in the US to arrest executives from high profile/public sports betting and other online gaming operators – on the basis of the most recent arrests, this is a strong possibility but not what was said either. What this means for CAC Vegas and being in Vegas this week
It wasn’t at all specified that the 400 warrants were to arrest online gaming operators/people at the CAC event or in Vegas this week and making this assumption is a highly unlikely extrapolation of the actual story.
But it does serve to warn us that all executives from high profile/public sports betting and other online gaming operators that are situated outside of the US need to be very concerned about entering the US.
That’s my take from what I learnt.
Cheers, Lloyd

September 13, 2006 at 5:43 am #705833AnonymousInactiveMe thinks its time Mr. Lesnic bows out of the convention scene gracefully. I never would have said anything before he made these outrageous comments, but now I think it needs to be said as I think it revealed his true colors.
With the explosion of CAP and this years popularity of the Spring Break ‘convention’ I see no reason why this arrogant and disrespectful guy should be running our industry’s events. More power to him for scheduling the sessions (tracks) he schedules, but they serve no purpose, they reveal outdated information on SEO practices or other services and no secrets are revealed, which is all anybody wants to know anyway, which we can get by getting drunk and socializing.
The only quality session of each convention comes at the end when we all drink beer and discuss general issues about the industry. Hell, we can have open panel sessions like that for two days straight and get much more accomplished.
The only other really cool things are going to Amsterdam because its Amsterdam, socializing with other affiliates and affiliate managers, walking around and looking at booths, and going to sponsored (pre paid for) parties to do more sociailizing with affiliates and managers. Plus all the affiliate give-a-ways are entertaining too.
Am I the only one who thinks like this?
September 13, 2006 at 5:52 am #705834AnonymousInactiveCertainly possible Luigi, but are any of the big names willing to support this idea?
September 13, 2006 at 2:08 pm #705861AnonymousInactiveScrew you and I will never attend one of your events, you are a whiss trying to leach off of us!
I think all of us Senior players need to make a stand to this jerk. Lou do your own show and dis this bitch.

September 13, 2006 at 2:51 pm #705865AnonymousInactiveThis was really a final insult Marc, it appears you have completely misjudged the honour and mood of the affiliates on this board and managed to piss us all off. I attended the convention in Amsterdam and I agree that the main plus points were the socialising and networking which can be done equally well in a beer hall
In summary FU Marc :dafingers
September 13, 2006 at 2:56 pm #705866AnonymousGuestThe only shows in this industry that I have attended that have been of real value for both affiliates and operators are Cap Spring Break and the previous affiliate force cruises…

We all have our own experiences and I don’t think it is in the spirit of cap to make this a huge issue and like proff said – let’s get on with business!
PJ – thanks for the compliment and yes, we exceeded our expectations dramatically from launch, and this credit is due to all the webmasters out there – THANK YOU!
We have launched the german (fully suppported) casino and will launch french shortly along with a host of other projects down the line.
