CAP Octoberfest, here we come!
We can have a beer panel, a sausage barbequeue, and all kinds of German treats like German cheese cake ,etc.
Another year we can have the Italian autumn fiesta, with spaghetti and wine and stuff.
And so on, mexican theme, french and so on.

First thing I noticed when walking to to the conference area, was this sign in the lobby saying GUTS
Some other affiliates told me that Marc also held his little speech about the boys and men in our industry and he apparently offered everyone who had the guts to attend this event free passes to Amsterdam.
It’s certainly time for someone else to step forward to organize future events!
None of the aff managers I spoke to was happy and they are considering not to participate in future events if hosted by Marc.September 17, 2006 at 7:23 am #706266AnonymousInactivethis guy is a complete m….. it high time someone took over, i swear.
September 17, 2006 at 1:06 pm #706277AnonymousInactiveI guess I did right thing by disengaging myself from speaking at this conference. I never thought of it as a business adventure but a opportunity to help. I could not see the business side of things giving a lecture on blackhat/seo. My mind was fixed on attempting to make people understand this topic better.
Mark however was kind enough to book my flight and hotel on my behalf. I still have the ticket but figured it would be immoral of me to use it.
I do not know Mark on a personal level so I will not pass judgement. But it seems apparent many people and programs are a little ticked off. I am hearing this from all directions.
I would really like to see someone else host these events.

September 17, 2006 at 1:43 pm #706279vladcizsolMemberI have been innundated by email and phone calls that basically echo those sentiments. Warren said he heard the same thing repeatedly in Las Vegas too.
While we aren’t particularly interested in creating conferences where people are bored to death by one talking head after another we will be expanding our affiliate “breaks” to meet the needs of the industry.
As has been stated over and over the true business value in conferences is the networking that takes place and the deals that get done, we also believe that when people also have fun it makes the total package a winner for all who attend.
We will be adding a CAP Fall Fiesta in Mexico next year around the time of G2E and CAC and a European Break in London that will compliment ICE. That will bring us to three breaks throughout the year and I think that is more then enough for us to ponder.
It’s important to note that our events are NOT meant to replace any existing conference. They are affiliate networking events and will be structured to reflect that emphasis. We will have the excitement of top notch social events like we have every year at CAP Spring Break, plus one day of educational seminars and round table discussions. Since our certified partners really enjoy having a designated place where you can find them to broker new deals we will add on a display hall for a day and half where they can have booths or hospitality areas.
Other key points are:
* We only select the VERY BEST venues to host our events so you wont find us at flea bag hotels or condemned properties.
* We produce these breaks as a means of promoting networking and growth of our industry, we dont tack on exorbitant mark ups on our social events. When a certified partner sponsors an event those funds are used to give you the best function possible not to pad our pockets. As a result YOU get better events and the certified partner gets the maximum bang for thier buck.
* We dont charge attendence for affiliates. If you are a CAP member you are invited and encouraged to attend. We dont put up barriers to attendence, we WANT you here!
I will keep everyone posted as we have more info available

September 17, 2006 at 3:02 pm #706287AnonymousInactiveYep, that sounds awesome. I’ve actually just had a discussion with one of the major programs and they were suggesting to tag on to ICE.
One concern that was raised about a location in the Bahamas, or Central America was that it ought to be possible to get a decent flight from Europe that doesn’t require connecting in the US.September 17, 2006 at 3:59 pm #706289AnonymousInactiveHey Lou,
One affiliate manager I spoke with last night said CAC was a pathetic week conference. It was his first time attending. Everyone feels Mark owes a appology to, but don’t expect him to be the type. I have not found one person that likes Mark or has much of anything good to say. I will be surprized if his future conferences are supported. Many affiliates I spoke with said that they would not attend Amsterdam even though they were going there to see friends. I am glad to see CAP stepping up to have more breaks in the future in different locations. CAP ROCKS!
September 17, 2006 at 4:05 pm #706290AnonymousInactiveThis is excellent news. Thanks Lou.

I would be among those ones coming over from the old continent and i know at least a few others that would not be willing to set their foot in the US, at least for the time being…
September 17, 2006 at 4:33 pm #706296AnonymousInactiveAwesome Lou!!!!! Great news
The Spring Breaks have always been the best for networking and of course FUN! Glad to see more.
Ditto Allen CAP ROCKS!
BradSeptember 17, 2006 at 4:42 pm #706300AnonymousInactiveEveryone I talked to says Cap Springbreak is the best of all conferences.
A Fall Fiesta and Cabin Fever Remedy will be super!
September 17, 2006 at 4:44 pm #706301AnonymousInactiveI love it Lou a very wise choice! greek39
September 17, 2006 at 10:48 pm #706326AnonymousInactiveLondon around the time of ICE sounds very interesting.
:drink:September 17, 2006 at 11:38 pm #706330vladcizsolMemberConnecting through Canada should be an option for folks traveling to the Bahamas or Mexico. Yes, I agree connecting through US airports is probably not a wise idea for casino owners. Affiliates shouldnt have to worry though.
