Short note – I am hopeful that there will be breaking news shortly. Until it happens I am obviously reluctant to say who or what, but rest assured that our concerns are definitely being heard now, even if they have been more or less ignored in the past.
NEVER SAY DIE!
August 10, 2005 at 1:19 pm #670558AnonymousInactiveThank you Spear. I can feel your excitement…..
I don’t know what we would do without you!
August 10, 2005 at 1:32 pm #670561AnonymousInactiveThe suspense is killing me! :allears:
August 10, 2005 at 1:33 pm #670562vladcizsolMemberIs this the Fortune news or does it relate to Referback?
August 10, 2005 at 2:23 pm #670564AnonymousInactiveTechnically, it relates to one or more of the MGS programs. I have been assured that the message is being communicated to them, as I have indicated that if I do not hear anything announced publicly, I will proceed with my “name and shame” newsletter issue.
Once they have made an announcement, they are expected to also announce a deadline for reaching a decision, and I have indicated that this should not be more than one week.
The “name and shame” will then wait one week pending a resolution. If either “deadline” is not met, I proceed with “name and shame” – and then I will finish gathering the information necessary to take legal action.
They will then be warned that once legal action is initiated, it cannot be stopped in many jurisdictions, and the embarassment of a legal case against them will cause them irreparable damage, not to mention any last chance of showing sincerity in dealing with their “partners”.
I have been assured that they are taking this seriously and that they realize legal action is not of benefit to either side – and while some of you think they may have deep pockets, you might not have realized that the affiliates – who earn income from other programs as well – will have a much larger sum at their disposal if we even get a reasonable percentage of affiliates pledging a bit to help.
I believe they realize they are definitely on the short end of the stick. And as one falls, they will all follow like dominoes, trust me.
Now let’s see how serious they are about addressing this issue, or at least announcing that they are further looking into the situation. It’s not a problem for me to name and shame them if they think they want to call my “bluff”.
Don’t worry. I am not letting up on the pressure. And I urge all of you to maintain a very strong stance in not supporting any of these programs in ANY manner whatsoever, in case they get any wise ideas.
August 10, 2005 at 2:28 pm #670565AnonymousInactiveLMFAO… and just as I was making the above post, one more or less capitulates
Let’s wait and see who else was advised of my communication
NEVER SAY DIE!
August 10, 2005 at 2:49 pm #670568AnonymousInactiveUpdate – VPL has already commited to try and reach a solution, as evidenced in their posts in both the public and their own forum.
I have been advised that all affected MGS programs have been contacted, however one of them may need a bit more pushing.
August 10, 2005 at 5:31 pm #670574AnonymousInactiveHey Spearmaster,
Thank you very much for updating us. It seems that the presure coming from many webmasters is finially working.August 10, 2005 at 6:38 pm #670579AnonymousInactiveWell, I am happy to push. I am also happy to see progress.
I will also contribute to legal fund when time comes.
August 10, 2005 at 7:23 pm #670585AnonymousInactiveExcellent news, thank you Spear and also to those that followed suit with blacklists…working together DOES work as long as we don’t give up
August 11, 2005 at 12:21 am #670601AnonymousInactiveInteresting that only VPL has replied so far – I am reasonably sure that the message that was passed on had quite a lot of force and left little room for assumptions.
Nevertheless, the two larger donkeys are continuing to balk so far… we shall see. They’ve got most of today to rectify that.
August 11, 2005 at 12:51 am #670603vladcizsolMemberOne Donkey has indicated they will be making changes next week. The biggest jackass is still reticent about doing the right thing so lets see what happens with them.
August 11, 2005 at 3:53 am #670604AnonymousInactiveWhat other donkey indicated they were making changes, or are we still talking about VPL?
They are supposed to be making PUBLIC announcements that they are at least looking for alternative solutions. In other words, not just to me, and not just to people in private.
August 11, 2005 at 7:37 am #670615AnonymousInactiveone of the programs said to give them 2 weeks.. they are trying to work out something.. Not sure exactly what it will be.. Guess all we can do is wait a couple weeks to find out.
August 11, 2005 at 8:52 am #670617AnonymousInactiveThey have one week and must announce this publicly or I proceed. This message was passed on to them and they would do well to heed this call since it came from well above their heads.
Frigging idiots don’t need two weeks to figure out a solution – they’ve had six already. I offered one week just to be nice.
