Not saying anyone is doing this, but don’t be close-minded into thinking that the only thing to look for is scraping. The name of the BH game, as far as I can tell, is content generation and indexing. There are ways to generate huge amounts of content without it being detectable as scraping. Then you are venturing into spamming.

I agree, very brave. Outright slander would scare me. But then again, I wouldn’t be brave enough to do it :)

Not just looking for scraping, but other things as well any dirt. Mr. expert seo practices bad seo and deserves this to be known. greek39

I am checking for spam, scraping, products, sites, randomlogic, 888, ect…

Greek have you tried to identify any of the people in the Webmastersinthesun site as a BH and try to make a connection like that? Just a thought. I have tried to do the exact same thing a while back, and as far as domain ownerships are concerned found it impossible to make the connection as the web was HUGE. I mean just his one server in Israel had over 700k domains! I always felt that maybe the answer was right infront of me all along but I was digging to deep. I even tried to find some students of his Management classes he gave at a University in Israel.

He has allot to loose,… alot of credibility and that makes him VERY dangerous and unpredictable.

I have not fully checked out Webmastersinthesun roaster yet. Just glanced over it I beleive all the meatballs there are responsonsible. We all have alot to loose as well if this beast is not tamed.

I woke up rather angry today after last night’s round of searches. Talking about disturbing, freakin the spam was everywhere. greek39

Getting pretty desperate thinking about attending the Hacker conference in August, in Vegas of course.

I was also tempted to download his brothers tracking tool. This tool will notify you everytime a bot/spider enters your site. I wanted to see if was malcious or not.

Maybe a waste of time? greek39

    That would drive me nuts!!!

I get close to 100,000 robot hits a month – all the same 15 robots.

    I wouldn’t have a quiet moment.

This is driving me nuts!! maybe I should take a step back and rethink? Perhaps Ziv is not what everyone is saying he is? The latest from the BH community is bowling and using subdomains.

The last one I tracked had 15,000 sites indexed!! normally they average around 100-200, Just nuts. greek39

P.S I think I will be going on a holiday until the end of July. Perhaps some solitude will help.

I realize some already know I and one other person will be speaking on the subject blackhat/seo in Vegas. I am curious however, if I should post this in the public forum? I am hestitating because I don’t want the BH community jumping on me.

Perhaps take a poll or suggestions on what honest webmasters are really curious about on the subject? or should I lie low until the event? greek39

I can tell you off the bat that people want to know how to find out if they are targeted and what to do about it.

I wouldn’t worry about reciprocation, I have done a presentation on it a couple years ago and no one came after me.

Heck, if I worried about people coming after me I’d never speak up.

    Can’t live that way.

    I’ll be there for support.

Very kind Dominique and appreciated. To be honest I am a little nervous about being disorganized.

I am so enraged over these BH people, I plan on slamming hard. Perhaps I shouldn’t worry so much about reprocations, these people deserve whats coming.

I won’t be around much starting in August, I have an incredible amount of tracking to do. I hope too surprise!! greek39

Try not to do what I did – I came in with too much material for the short time alotted, and the guy in front of me ran late, and I ended up being able to present only a quarter of my material.

One tends to worry about not having enough material.

The problem is usually not having enough time.

If you are one of two people speaking, and you have a topic where people are going to want to ask questions, you are almost guaranteed to not have enough time.

Keep it short, no background for the facts, but lots of facts. People usually want to know “what”, not “why”.

And in this case, certainly stay away from “how”.

I want to echo Dominique here. I recently started presenting seminars and the how is a huge subject to avoid whilst presenting seminars. Also like to add using facts ussually is much better as well. IMO if you present facts rather than theories you also accomplish allot more with less interuptions. Making use of case studies is a certain way of having a good seminar.

    Greek,

This might help you to think about what webmaster affiliates want to hear.

    MY BACKGROUND
I’m technology literate, business savvy and internet aware – but not intersted on staying on the bleeding edge of SEO gossip.

However, I use a SEO tool to help me rank my pages. One you recomended.

    MY INTERESTS WOULD BE :
Why do black hat techniques create sites that rank well?

Why are they better than white hat techniques that create the sort of sites that search engine actually want to list?

Do search engines eventually kick them out of their listings ?

Other than losing a chance at the top ranking pages – can black hat techniques actually negatively affect my site – ie push me down?

If so, are there any basic things that I can do to prevent this?

As you can see – these are five questions that cover the basics – but also cut quickly to the important chase.

What is the issue, what effect does it have, and can we protect ourselves.

    Hope that helps?
