You are right Lou. There are many suffering and it will get worse. God help us all and I’m confident that HE will.
October 9, 2008 at 11:06 pm #781974AnonymousInactiveI’m glad that you posted that Dom. I’d be willing to pay for any help I can get at my site.
October 9, 2008 at 11:46 pm #781979vladcizsolMemberEven though most of us are stretched to the limit, and we do have a services and content area already, is there something more we could do for CAP members who are LEGITIMATELY in need of a little help right now?
The dangers are abuse of the program or starting a trend which attracts too many people who are scammers (Remember Matty Dom, he took so many members here it wasnt funny)
What I am trying to say is is there a way we can match up work needed like content writing, forum and blog posting, taking care of link exchanges, translation, graphics work etc… with people who are willing to work to get back on their feet?
If we could come up with something that works I think we should do it.
October 10, 2008 at 12:06 am #781983AnonymousInactiveThat’s something that we need to discuss for sure.
October 10, 2008 at 1:04 am #781986AnonymousInactiveThat is a great idea and maybe we can put some guidelines in place such just some random ideas I am tossing out..
-Be approved by a board of CAP peers to be in the ” CAP members unite” (just tossed that out there too…lol ) charity/team
– Be a member in good standing with CAP, such as have a certain amount of post
-Once they are on their feet they need to agree to remove themselves and make room for another in need.
We could can even make it so they can only do this for a certain amount of time etc
What about asking a program to give something out to affiliates for those who donate to the cause?
What about also doing something where we can “adopt” an affiliate in need and do things like help them with giving them work and maybe even send them items such as food and other needs?
What about setting up a fund that CAP can distribute, not sure if that can happen but I would donate to it now and then but that would need to be a trust so your not taxed on it.
I am just rattling now going to watch CSI, they killed my man Warick off I am gonna go cry now:Cry:
October 10, 2008 at 1:30 pm #782033vladcizsolMemberExcellent ideas!!
I like both concepts. The work for help and the CAP Relief fund. Lets continue to flesh this out. Ladies you have some great ideas there and On the United Fund I think we can get programs to help with Charity “Free Rolls” and Slot Tourneys.
Dom what are your thoughts input?
I would like to put this live before the end of the month
October 10, 2008 at 1:31 pm #782034AnonymousInactiveBTW 777 reported for work today.
I don’t know, I have no experience with organized charity and how to prevent abuse. Everyone wants a freebie.
I tend to just give where I see a need…
Although I do help some people in a pinch, I believe more in giving a chance to do work for money. I could see a system where people needing work done submit the job and post a sum they want to pay, and people who need it claim the jobs. Like a job bank.

Dom you are a saint
October 10, 2008 at 1:48 pm #782037AnonymousInactiveThis is going to take a lot of thought and my mom who was a social worker for 20 years may be able to give me some points and views that may help in this effort so I’ll call her and see.
My hubby’s favoriate “debate” issue is that I’ll give a stranger something before him. lol I’m good at database management and computer stuff so I can help with maintaining records or something of that nature k?
October 10, 2008 at 2:46 pm #782057AnonymousInactiveI am a softy and a giver I guess and I believe in the work thing as well like Dom said but what if that just isn’t doing enough and they are working their azzes off and we see them doing this but still they just can’t seem to get ahead of the game.
That is why I think there should be a board or committee of some type that would have to vote on and approve before anything is dispersed. I think this will be great for CAP and the members, you know how they say take care of your home first, well to me CAP is like a home and family to me and I am sure others feel the same.
I think if there is a board it is better that way, if you have a group of people between them all any riff raff should be weeded out.
October 10, 2008 at 3:58 pm #782066AnonymousInactiveYep, we have to have a method that will help those less experienced, but they must give back in some way. Maryann can’t really do what I need, but I’m going to find something for her and give her a $100 on Monday.
We definately need a board for this stuff.
Mom has offered her services where needed, but don’t require money. She is not very computer literate, but learns quickly and is good with details.
October 10, 2008 at 6:41 pm #782087AnonymousInactiveI just wanted to post this here to see if anyone else replies to see if we may get some insight.

October 13, 2008 at 1:46 am #782242AnonymousInactiveJust thought of another idea, we could have and send out some type of vouchers/gift cards that they can use at local stores near them. This way we are not giving cold hard cash that we have no idea is being spent on needy things. We could also use prepaid credit cards etc
October 13, 2008 at 3:04 pm #782295AnonymousInactiveWell, we have always had link firesales.
I find unskilled people very useful and always have a number of them on board. They can look around for updates, check links and do any number of unskilled tasks that my skilled people lose precious time on.
From a business point of view, splitting tasks between skilled and unskilled makes all the sense. Saves me a bunch of money.
Ute (the German) actually has a number of skills that are useful to me. Often times people don’t even know they have skills.
I often let my guys bring in unskilled relations who are in a pinch and I have never regretted it. They save me money while they make money. IMO, it’s a win-win.
Hopefully it will stay within reasonable proportions, I can’t keep all Cappers busy, lol.
I think that one thing that keeps a lot of affiliates from growing to make money is that they try to do everything themselves and pocket every penny of income themselves. That is a sure fire recipe for a stale, no growth business.

Yep, that was my problem and I’m trying to get out of it.
I just prepaid Ute $100.00, to do some work in the german section of my forum which I closed after they passed their law, but will re-open.
