RUNSONWATER goes head to head with Team UB’s Matt Graham this weekend for a chance at pocketing $5,000, the year’s biggest Weekly MTT Leaderboard Heads-Up prize pool.
Miami, FL (Marketwire), Tuesday, December 8, 2009 – While the Yearly Tournament Leaderboard at UB.com and AbsolutePoker.com is proving a tight race to the finish line, the Multi-table Tournament(“MTT”) Weekly Leaderboard at the CEREUS poker network is creating a buzz of its own. This Saturday at 2pm ET, watch UB player RUNSONWATER take on Team UB Pro Matt Graham in a knock-em down winner-take-all match with a $5,000 pot on the line.
Throughout the year, the CEREUS Network’s Poker Room Manager has offered up a $1,000 prize pool for the MTT Weekly Leaderboard, with the weekly winner facing the ultimate Heads Up challenge against one of Team UB’s Pro players. The online player needed to win the tousle at the table to pocket the cash and walk away with bragging rights. A loss by the online player saw the $1,000 rolled over to the next week, and added to that week’s $1,000 cash prize.
When RUNSONWATER goes head to head with UB Pro Matt Graham on Saturday, December 12, he will vie for the largest MTT Weekly Leaderboard pot of the year so far. Should the Las Vegas local fail to trump Graham, a World Series Of Poker dual bracelet holder, the Weekly MTT Heads Up prize pool will escalate to $6,000, ready for the taking on December 19.
RUNSONWATER is also making a late run for a share of the $100,000 up for grabs in the Yearly Tournament leaderboard, sitting in fifth spot with 9641.04 points just behind fourth place rival SPIN31 on 9811.45 Points.
Now with less than four weeks until the MTT Yearly Leaderboard wraps for 2009, first prize is almost certainly secured, but expect the race for 2nd and 3rd places to come down to the wire. Current state of play on the Yearly Leaderboard (at Dec. 7th) sees PISCATO77 with 12015.62 points in 1st place, BELANDATOR in 2nd position with 10765.04 points, and 011POKERDR with 10674.57 points in third.
The CEREUS Leaderboard competitions recognize the skill and patience it takes to be a consistent performer in multi-table tournaments over a week, a month and over the year. Rewarding excellence is what it’s all about, and the leading online poker sites are invested in their players, offering $50,000 to be shared by the top 10 finishers – $10,000 for 1st, $6500 for 2nd and $5,000 for 3rd – plus a $50,000 freeroll open to the top 100 players of the year.
The good news is that players at the CEREUS poker network are automatically enrolled into all three leaderboard competitions simultaneously, and there’s no hoops to jump through to get on board.
