June 15, 2007 at 3:01 pm #739772AnonymousInactiveI’m seriously considering this trip. I’m wondering, though, how easy is it for an English speaking person (such as myself) to get around in Barcelona? How much English is spoken there? Are the signs bilingual?

Can’t remember if the signs are in English but you should easily be able to find your way around with a simple tourist map and just about all the bar, restaurant, and taxi people speak perfect English so they can always give you directions and help.
June 15, 2007 at 3:31 pm #739780vladcizsolMemberI just booked our airline tickets and hotel for Barcelona. I also decided to visit Madrid for a few days so I got my hotel there as well. Guys this is going to be the absolute BEST affiliate event this year with well over 1200 affiliates and industry leaders expected to attend.
I urge everyone to book early for the lowest airfare and hotel rates, you dont want to miss this one!

Haha, that’s pretty funny… I’ll see you in Barca. I used to work in London and I’m not a fan, however, thanks to CAP because they must know that Barcelona is my favorite city in the whole world :hattip:

I’ve been there quite a few times too Alex and the signs most certainly are not in English. In fact they aren’t even in regular Spanish, they spean that Andorran version, Catalan. The one with X’s in, its somewhat different.
Anyway, it’s a GREAT place, did I mention it was my favorite? Las Ramblas (Rambla del Caputxin & Rambla del Capuchinos) – that’s your guide. South towards the water and the HUGE Chris Columbus statue and north goes to shopping
I kinda know my way around, I can’t wait to go!
June 19, 2007 at 3:05 pm #740098AnonymousInactivewhats the matter with you people!
get the phrase book out and try and speeka da lingo! :hattip:
June 19, 2007 at 3:38 pm #740104PatrickMMemberThe lingo = Hola (Hi), Cervesa (beer), Tequila (ummm), Sangria (Yummy), Por Favor (Please), Gracias (Thanks).
In fact the above can be made in one sentence such as:
Hola, cervesa, tequila y sangria por favor, gracias.
:hattip:

Yeah that would normally be good advice but Catalan is fairly tricky. I was at EIG last year and didn’t have any problems ordering beer, that is the bench mark right??
Looking forward to seeing all you guys there
