GuestHey bada nice looking bag. Should be excellent meat too.
Hunting deer with a Ford
I never hunted deer cause frankly, it looks like it’d be a pain in the ass. I don’t like to get up early, or sit in cold conditions unless I have to and more likely a buck waiting at the end; *not your kind of buck
anyway, a few years ago I had a buddy staying with me that I’d bailed out of jail and had him working off the bail; I didn’t trust him out of my site so I made him stay at my place for a couple of weeks while he worked off his debt.
the only thing he DID get to do was to go hunt deer early, early in the am before we went to work sodding.
towards the end of his stay he still had not gotten a deer with his bow. I live in a upper-class area (I have an old house that’s not upper-class) but anyway, they only have season for a short period of time, I guess because of all the housing developments and stuff; and it was getting near the end.
I had just left for a date (in my sod truck – lol) and as I neared the top of the hill we live on, I saw a huge buck with his head down in the middle of the road smelling females.
Well this guy is needless to say been hunting deer for more than just fun, he really could use the meat. So i eased my truck over into the other lane lining his head up with the outside of my bumper.
long story shortened I now have the deer tied to the back of my truck with an old sod rope and I drag it baok down to where I live; crossing the road into my place leaving a blood trail the whole way.
It was an uneven 21 point buck.
So I went off to my date after untying the deer and for no other reason than the fact that I always cover my bases whenever possible; I had tied the rope to a post but for all I was worth, I’d have said that deer was dead.
So the cops show up after i leave and they want to hassle me because I didn’t call in the “accident”. they had followed the blood trail from the kill spot.
While my friend and the cop are arguing about it; all the sudden the deer jumps up and tries to run off; but by now of course; it’s tied to the post.
So my friend got to shoot his deer after all that year. Which btw would have been a state record; had a cop not been standing there watching as he shot it tied to a post; which of course; disqualified him for the state record.
