Here’s a fun fact that was given by Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz.org.
StumbleUpon now sends 1/6th the traffic Google sends each day every month. Have a look at this article for more info and the traffic graph. How many affiliate marketers in gaming are actually using this tool to boost traffic? :huh2:
Article: StumbleUpon Hits 500 Million Pageviews A Month

February 17, 2011 at 12:51 am #814820burundiMemberAt one point a couple years ago I was getting a decent amount of stumbleupon traffic as well, a few hundred visitors per month, even when my site was not ranking anywhere, and really the only traffic besides stumbleupon was bots.
The site was not making players until other traffic sources clicked in though, unfortunately..

February 17, 2011 at 6:41 pm #814837winner.comMemberWhat I think happens in Stumble Upon is once you add your page you get a tonne of hits because that page is in the main ‘index’ where people are just stumbling.
Then after a day (or an hour) you’re off then main ‘index’ and might get an occasional hit
February 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm #814839burundiMemberunless you rank for searches in stumble.. I used to be #1 for people searching “online casino” and for about half a year.. as I mentioned though it didnt make players.. perhaps it is making players now though.. will have to give it a little more attention I think..

I would be interested to hear if you see any change in results from a couple years back to now in terms of converting traffic.
I wonder if marketers should pay attention to some of the other social bookmarking sites as well?
February 22, 2011 at 5:16 pm #814903cashforaccountMemberI have never thought about using StumbleUpon and unless you have something that is front page news you probably won’t see much traffic, same with Digg.
February 24, 2011 at 2:32 am #814945AnonymousInactiveI think the reason for that kind of traffic is that lots of web2 website have integrated the StumbleUpon button on their sites and marketeres are pressing it to submit new content to StumbleUpon website
February 24, 2011 at 5:19 am #814946AnonymousInactiveI’m wondering if stumble upon traffic equates to sales style traffic, or just surfing around looking at stuff? – ala wikipedia.
March 21, 2011 at 2:56 pm #815348casinowalesMemberI’ve thought of using StumbleUpon but kept brushing it aside for some reason. And now after seeing this thread, i’m pushing that task at the top of my to do list.
Whatever traffic i can get, i’m all for it
March 21, 2011 at 10:07 pm #815361alefebMemberHi Guys – Can someone shed some light on how to utilize stumble upon properly to drive traffic to a website? What strategy do you use? I am currently running a sports news website with lots of quality daily updates news? Can I submit my rss feed to stumble upon or how does this work?
