Question for the community… Do you have experience with diversifying your traffic?
Looking to hear from affiliates that have performed well with the online gambling channels (IE: casino, poker, sports book, etc.) and then branched out to other niches. Perhaps Binary Options or Forex… or even totally unrelated verticals, like Financial/Sub-prime, Health & Beauty, Freebie Offers, etc.
Have you ever tried this before? If so, have you been successful? How did you do it?
Would love to hear experiences… and if you would prefer, feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the update, jpcash. Great to see that you are diversifying the markets you’re working in.
At the same time, I’m interested in seeing what other verticals- outside of online gambling- community members have found success in…
June 4, 2012 at 12:48 am #825061CasinoGemMemberHi Jillo, Thanks for the post. I mentioned this in a post a while back I think a good diversification option would be advertising alchohol products with the online casino.
If you wanted to stay away from alchohol I guess there would be an option if you are promoting sports affiliate programs to maybe strike up a deal with being able to sell sports merchandise.
And if your running a financial stocks site i suppose a good avenue there would strike up a deal to use one of these stock report financial (qualified legit companies) newsletters that they sell. They arn’t aloud to call them stock tips they call them stock reports and I suppose you could double your revenue if you could sell both.
A few idea’s anyways But I think it’s if you are good at sales you can just about sell anything, and you have a good plan.

These are sincerely awesome ideas… Just curious… do you know of anyone doing this right now and have seen success from it?
June 5, 2012 at 6:00 am #825108AnonymousInactiveI haven’t tried it yet, but I suppose one should be looking for areas where people are ready to use their credit card, e.g. when people are actually looking for something where they are set for buying something. This is why I think casinos are great, because almost everyone looking for an online casino is ready to spend a dime. But there must me other ideas, e.g. like coupon codes where people have probably decided to buy something, but now they are only looking for the right place to buy it. Samething perhaps for mobile subscriptions etc. But on the other hand I would never be looking for a place to buy beer online, so if I where to advertise for beer it should be on a pay-per-click basis (or perhaps post a blog post about beers to get a couple of tasting samples).

Hey Jillo,
I havn’t got a sports section up yet for sports betting, but when I do I may look into sports merchandise. It seems the most logical out of all of them in terms of extra product – cheap shipping ect.
Just need the brands ect baseball caps ect.June 6, 2012 at 5:07 am #825166AnonymousInactiveIf your site is something of a pass through portal, often the case for those running a dozen or more sites, I’d think you would want to stay on message. If your site is sticky or you have a mailing list, I say its worth a shot.
It really doesn’t have to negatively effect seo unless its some kind of spammy poison word. Even then, you can use banners and redirects for example.
