Um is this the same Search Fast as this one detailed below?

    http://www.spywareguide.com/product_show.php?id=1694

This program adds as a toolbar with Internet explorer. It hijacks start page, search page and error page. It tracks all user activities including the sites visited.

    & also here:

    http://www.nuker.com/container/details/hijacker_searchfast.php

    Brief:
Installs silently and hijacks Internet Explorer’s default search page.

    & again here:

    http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Searchfst.html

Can silently download and execute arbitrary unsigned code from its controlling server searchfst.com, as an update feature.

Additionally, the Searchfst/Utility control allows any web page to reinstall the main srchfst code should it be removed.

Thanks but no thanks. I will avoid this. :cuss:

Well McAfee doesn’t like it and neither do I.

There is enough spam, malware, adware etc on the internet without it being peddled so blatantly to the good members of CAP.

    BTW welcome to CAP :huh2:

While the question was obviously span and we will ignore the ad-ridden malware that the person was trying to push … I have a question …

Has anyone else noticed that some google results are actually a pile of cack that an 8-year-old child could glance at and automatically discard 50% of them.

Now don’t get me wrong – I use google as my search engine of choice … but some of the results presented on the forst couple of pages for a lot of basic terms are SOOO far away from being good quaility.

Google have smart people, smart algorythms, a lot of smart, so why are their results so often wide of the mark?

My gut feel is it is due to their insistance of weighting old stuff ahead of new stuff. So junky old domains that are not maintained rate highly. Crappy forum posts (like this one) :woo-hoo: gain extra relevance after they’ve been around a couple of years.

Oddly, I benefit from that bias – my site has been going 6 years now – but sometime it looks like half the google results I get have been chosen by a dyslexic drunk after a hard night on the turps …

Or is that just my opinion …

Google, I think, places too much of their rankings on linking. You have new sites up there with a crapload of links because (only a guess) maybe they spam the crap out of forums and blogs or something.

If they spammed, say, thousands of forums…. Google would love them.

MSN cares a little about links, but not that much.

Yahoo cares a little more about links, but not nearly as much as google.

That’s my guess. I don’t even use Google anymore because both Yahoo and MSN have MUCH better results.

    *Edited because I can’t spell :)
