    Hey all,
As I am sure you have all heard many times before but you have provided inspiration and and a good source of information for someone new trying to make it in the affiliate world. I was wondering if anyone would mind taking a quick runthrough of my site and making any suggestions they may have. I’d really appreciate it. The site is http://www.thepokeragent.com. Thanks in advance.

ps. I’m also beginning to start advertising it and have seen you all mention before how link exchange is a good part of getting your site out on the SE’s. Does anyone have any good adivce on how to go about starting that?

    Taken a quick look.

Interesting quirky little site – although I’m not sure that I’m seeing it how you intended it ? I’m using MS-Explorer V6and WIn XP (pretty common).

    HOME – http://www.thepokeragent.com/index.asp

Can’t really read the scroller in the center – way too fast.
Can’t read the orange text on the right over the poker chips.

    PROMOTIONS – http://www.thepokeragent.com/index-1.html

Text in the bright orange bit has a scrollbar to read all the listed items. There dont seem to be any direct links to the promotion.s

Cant read the bright orange text on the right over the top of the $20 picture.

    SPECIALS – http://www.thepokeragent.com/index-2.asp

Cant read the orange text over the BAlleys pictire.

    FAQS – http://www.thepokeragent.com/index-3.html

I see your green menu of the left, then a solid block of orange in the centre, and on the right is a bright picture with misaligned orange text that is almost unreadable.

    SIGNUP – http://www.thepokeragent.com/index-4.asp

Can’t read the white warning text over the form buttons.

    SUMMARY.

    Interesting bright coloured site.
Built in tiny dimensions that take no advantage of my 24″ wide screen.
Content seems to lack dates and doesn’t have a personal touch.

    Rating 3/10
Could go to 4/10 if I could actually read all the text

But I wouldn’t bookmark it – or even think about returning again – as it does seem content lite.

(But don’t worry about that rating Bryant – I always mark hard)
    :hehe:

    Here’s my two biggest issues.

    1. It’s not user friendly. Usability is out the door.

    2. It’s not SEO friendly.

Oh, it also has the feel of a website with very little content. Right now it’s set so that visitors are just one-use disposables.

I would return to the drawing board on this one and address those two issues. They will hurt you.

Thanks for the input, I’m really looking for layout critique and I can’t seem to fix the darn problem with the text shifting. If anyone has any MS Frontpage expierence and knows how to fix this I would appreciate it. The text shift is unintended and does not show up in the frontpage preview or in my browsers (Firefox and the latest version of IE)

Yes, it is very hard to read the text on all of your pages in Firefox. You will need to add more content as there is not much there already, unless you are intending it as just a site where some one can sign up for rakeback..

Your text is very difficult to read and therefor not user friendly. That’s what jumps out at me immediately.

Well don’t get discouraged first of all. Just a honest opinon thats all. I see you like thinking outside the box, which is good. But your site needs some real work to much too list. My site is no glorious thing either, but thats done on purpose. I noticed no description tag or keywords. The source code is pretty bad, color choice yikes!!

But hey, keep plugging away and you will get there. greek39

This is a different site than the one you first mentioned. Just looking at your front page source code there appears to be no meta des nor keywords? unless I am missing something.

    Spelling mistakes:

    aaction> action
    Vagas> Vegas
    truley> truly
    AbsolutePoker.comr> absolurepoker.com

    Broken links: 404

    Partypoker.com
    search engine
    5card charlie

No alt tags and 13 browser supoort conflicts.

For w3c there are 56 errors not valid code.

I like the look but the optimization needs some work. I hope this helps a little.greek39
