Oh don’t misunderstand me Greek. I believe 888.com need to get a handle and quick on all their affiliates of which there are many who they seem to turn a blind eye to that scrape sites left right and center. They are by far the worst program in this regard in my view.
March 14, 2006 at 9:40 pm #686281AnonymousInactiveYou’re right, Webzcas, it is my first post. But I’m no stranger to CAP – I’ve been reading these forums for well over 6 months. I’ve just never contributed before. I’m also no stranger to 888.com – last year along with many other affiliates I received their now-famous ‘letter-of-death’, informing me that my players were ‘bonus-abusers’ etc etc – same old garbage as everyone else.
They witheld around $84000 commission and I haven’t seen a penny of it.
For the record – I don’t think it’s INCENTIVIZED cpa that has been the isuue with 888. Their terms and conditions only ever allowed incentives when negotiated with them directly on a case by case basis. It was just their straight cpa deal which generated the problems, along with their bonus policy. Their deposit & withdrawal allowed (and in fact, STILL allows) people to deposit $200, receive a $200 bonus, and then withdraw the deposit again, leaving just the bonus to play with.
Lots of us signed people up by pointing this out – you couldn’t lose! You were only playing with their money. Who wouldn’t? I was getting 10-15 new players per day.
I know some members of this forum may try to take the moral high ground here (laughable when the truth is, in this industry we ALL live off other people’s broken lives) and say this approach to affiliating is wrong, but in fact it is the 888.com SYSTEM which is wrong because it allows this activity, and then penalises affiliates for exploiting it. If they don’t want people to use the system in this way, they shouldn’t set it up this way!
To this day, you can STILL open an account with 888, get the bonus, cash out your deposit and play with THEIR money. If they were REALLY bothered by this, they would have stopped it by now. In fact, I suspect that over time, even these players make an average profit for 888, as a percentage of them decide to give it another go with their own cash. Even better when 888 don’t have to pay for them.
So, they call the players ‘bonus abusers’ and shut affiliate accounts.
Great way to run a business.
Not.
I’m sorry if my first post caused offence to anyone (except 888, they can be as offended as they like, the more the better). But when you’re $84000 down you get a little bitter, yes?
Thanks for your support, Greek.
March 15, 2006 at 3:25 pm #686340AnonymousInactiveYes I would be a little bitter if the amount is $84000. I would check you links for scrapers if you find any please PM me, I collect them for amusement. Most are coming from the same server. This would only help in the current situation.
I don’t beleive Shelly to be dishonest, but I do beleive there are things she cannot control. greek39
March 16, 2006 at 7:37 am #686409AnonymousInactiveIn response to Shoevenus’ post:
It is true that our system allows players to enjoy a generous bonus, but that fact should be used to approach users who are actually interested in playing. It is true that we do see bonus abusers come in from almost every marketing channel we utilize, but there are specific channels where the bonus abusers are the majority of the users referred. Our experience reviles that in most cases, the wording or the promotion in these channels was appealing more to the bonus abuser than to the average player. Our intention is not to “rip-off” the affiliate in not paying. We do not pay the commissions since we are being “ripped off” in these cases as well. In any of these cases we immediately stop the campaign so that we cease to appear in that marketing channel.
The whole concept of affiliation must base on as win-win situation; it is a responsibility that must be taken into account by the affiliates as well.
March 16, 2006 at 8:43 am #686416AnonymousInactiveThe whole concept of affiliation must base on as win-win situation; it is a responsibility that must be taken into account by the affiliates as well.
Correct Shelly and something that 888.com seriously needs to take on board. Not only has your lucrative incentivised CPA exposed 888.com to affiliate fraud on a large scale. By having this, you also promote the pond scum of the internet to scrape honest hardworking webmasters sites by the thousand – In the hope that they can generate massive profits from your lucrative CPA deal off the back of others hard work.
So not only are 888.com hurting themselves, you are also hurting countless sites which do not even promote your casinos or poker room.
March 16, 2006 at 8:58 am #686417AnonymousInactiveAs you know we cancelled our CPA scheme for NEW affiliates. All those on CPA are affiliates that signed up bofore November 1. Unfortunately, we still encouter cases in which we have to close down accounts, but I am glad tosay that the percentage of these instances has dropped significantly.
If and when we do reapply CPA it will unforteunately have to be closer to what the rest of the market is offering as CPA commissions, and all accounts will be carefully monitored from day 1.
Thanks
shellyMarch 16, 2006 at 12:39 pm #686430AnonymousInactiveThis I would appreciate a great deal. CPA attracts the unsavy types, who lack knowledge or time of building a real site. greek39
March 16, 2006 at 12:47 pm #686432AnonymousInactiveThe fact remains that 888’s software systems allow people to deposit, withdraw and play the bonus only.
The fact remains that 888 terms and conditions do not forbid you to deposit, withdraw, and play the bonus only.
The fact remains that it would be a simple matter to code the software so this was impossible.
The fact remains that 888 have chosen NOT to amend their software.
The fact remains that affiliates who bring in bonus players (I reject the term ‘bonus-abusers’ because 888 are undoubtedly making money on them over time) are NOT breaking ANY of 888’s published terms and conditions.
You see, it’s just easier to advertise better bonuses than your competitiors and then fleece your affiliates.
BAD casino. End of story.
March 16, 2006 at 12:49 pm #686433AnonymousInactiveThere is no way I would ever consider CPA. The only deal I would do which isn’t rev share is a straightforward Media Buy, whereby the payment is upfront and is calculated on your sites serps – Not a promise of x amount of players.
I still also find it quite incredible that a new site can generate enough decent players on CPA to warrant $84k. Maybe I am missing something, if so could someone tell me what I am doing wrong :sarcasm:
March 16, 2006 at 1:34 pm #686434AnonymousInactiveI quess its’ the way we conduct business. Large scale companies take loses and deal with them. In the case of 888.com it appears there are no losses just close affiliate accounts down and claim “bonus abusers”. I wonder if Bill Gates didn’t offer a return policy or support if He would have been successful? Buy a damaged program, then turn around and say “sorry you are outta luck”.
888.com although personally, can’t stand playing there, seems to take no responsibility for there product and will not tolerate losses. Thats is in part why they are making so much money. If they don’t like what they see just pull the plug. I would make a fortune operating under these conditions, so would anybody.
Define bonus abuser, I would think its a player who keeps coming back for seconds. Not in this case they come once, claim the bonus and leave. Is this a bonus abuser?
Its the webmaster who takes the loss. Its’ just a matter of time before 888.com begins too see the results of their immoral business dealings. From my info 888.com is soon to be bought out, I hope that happens. Maybe then things will change.
I too would appreciate all earnnigs made from scappers of my site be paid too me. Will this happen?
But rest assured there is a fellow watching this sega unfold. There will be a day when 888.com gets back what it dishes out. greek39

But since you’re asking…
I didn’t even need a website. It’s a simple task to a seasoned internet marketer to generate bonus players. I used a combination of established offline contacts from my other business interests, and opt-in email marketing.
In fact, show me any casino that
a) offers a cpa deal worth having,
b) pays a 100% deposit bonus of at least $200,
c) allows you to cash out the deposit immediately and play with the bonus,
d) has a bonus playthrough requirement of no more than 20x
and
e) allows you to spin the roulette wheel without betting, and I can start sending 5-10 new players every day after just half an hour’s work.
Problem is, I’ve never found another casino apart from 888 that offer all those features. But I’m still looking…

March 21, 2006 at 3:24 pm #686768AnonymousInactiveI would rather not cause too much of a disturbance. I have been up all night, and am pretty sleepy.
Well here is another site from 888.com its one of there front pages.
The tiltle of the page is “700 FAMOUS NEBRASKANS – Food and Nutrition”
Some webmasters may want to draw up a sitemap of this site to see if any of your aff tags are being used or description tags. I decided not to post all my findings to try and keep things simple. There are thousands.
I wonder what “Food and Nutrition have to do with online gambling, a bit spammy. I would love to post the satellite image from the place theses are coming from. But I find it would be inappropiate.
I am getting very close, to solving this ongoing problem. I wish 888.com could some how explain this. greek39
