April 26, 2006 at 6:25 am #690066AnonymousInactiveI have been discussing the issues on this thread with my managers, and we will be putting together a forum that will lay out our policies against scrapping.
Hopefully I will have updates for you soon.
Thanks

shellyWhat is there to discuss? It is simple, scraping is theft and you are lining the pockets of these thieves. Why is it taking so long to take actions against all the owners of the scraper sites listed just in this thread?
If any of us stole content from your sites, we would be booted out of the 888 affiliate program if we promoted them. We expect the same to happen to webmasters who by stealing our content promote your sites.
By taking firm action against these scrapers in the form of permanently shutting down each and every one account. 888/Cassava have the power to help eliminate scraping from our industry. As it will no longer be possible to earn a lucrative living off the back of somebody elses hard work.
The choice is clear. Your management should also be reminded that whilst Cassava are a large company, they do not own the internet and cannot do as they please.
Failure to act on this very important issue, will mean 888 get a lot more publicity on the internet, in the form of being mentioned on many many prominent rogue casino listings.
April 26, 2006 at 2:45 pm #690102AnonymousInactiveAdding an anti scraping clause to your T&Cs would also be helpful.
My patience is running thin. Within a few days I could have 888 topping the google terms of blacklisted casino, rogue casino, blacklisted online casino, rogue online casino and the like.
I could do it with 888 showing as the topic of the page. That means searches for 888 would bring it up as top result.
Add in a number of other disgruntled affiliates doing the same…and chances are that everyone wantng internet nfo on you will get these first.
I am getting really sick of seeing these scrapers live on, this thread has been going for a long time now.
888 is not the only one who can play search engine games.
These scrapers are seriously hurting the industry as a whole and affiliates in specific. It has to stop – now.
We can and will hurt you back!
Perhaps someone would like to consult privately on how to handle this – I am open to that.

shellyHi Shelly,I am eagerly looking forward to having a look at your new policies.
I think CAP is an ideal forum for discussing these issues. If you must launch your own forum, please don’t cease communicating here — please continue to post information and results here.
April 26, 2006 at 10:45 pm #690151AnonymousInactiveon a different note
how can one find out if his site is being scraped
thanks
April 27, 2006 at 7:12 am #690166AnonymousInactiveAs I’ve said before – the scrappers have been contacted and we are already working with our contacts to shut these operations down.
Any referral you make – will be handled immediately.
However, discussing our policies, is a process that takes time, and I hope you understand that this means we will not have immediate answers to post here.
shellyApril 27, 2006 at 8:00 am #690167AnonymousInactiveSo Shelly can you confirm that every single scraper site listed here just in this thread which are promoting your brands, the individual(s) behind them have been booted out of your affiliate program and will never ever be allowed to work with 888 Holdings/Cassava again?
However, discussing our policies, is a process that takes time, and I hope you understand that this means we will not have immediate answers to post here.
This thread has been running for over a month and a half now. Other programs such as Wagershare, Brightshare, 32Red etc take decisive action promptly and efficiently when affiliates of theirs which conduct scraping are pointed out to them.
Also and more importantly, they vet all sites that wish to promote them before allowing them to do so. How can a Public Listed Company of your size and magnitude not have the resources or the care to do the same?
Why is it taking 888 a month and a half to come to a decision which should be clear cut?
These are very serious and pressing questions, the answers to which will decide whether I and many many other webmasters will take further action, by way of adding 888/Pacific and your other brands to our rogue pages.
April 27, 2006 at 2:22 pm #690208AnonymousInactiveWebzcas wrote:Why is it taking 888 a month and a half to come to a decision which should be clear cut? From what I have seen this issue has been going on a lot longer than a month and a half. The answer to your question is simple, if they were to eliminate the practice in one fell-swoop they would wipe put tens of thousands of pages referring 888. It would affect their revenues and their IPO price and as such they will not move quickly to make such a drastic change.
April 27, 2006 at 7:04 pm #690229AnonymousInactiveI am putting this up today:
http://www.gamesandcasino.com/888/casino.htm
It will be topping google in a few days.
I will exchange hardcoded, bottom of the page links with anyone who also puts up a page blacklisting 888, regardless of their PR.
Want out of the sandbox? Here you go.
April 27, 2006 at 8:20 pm #690235AnonymousInactiveThis sounds like a good idea Dominique. I will PM you later with a few sites after I make the 888 blacklist pages.
If 888 can shut down affiliates for a random bonus abuser that the affiliate had no control over, 888.con sure as hell better shut down affiliates that are knowingly scraping pages and hurting other affiliates. I want to see these acounts shut down PERMENANTLY, not just the website, the affiliate! The poptshirt affiliate is scraping my site also, I want his affiliate account shut down and all commissions that should have been mine sent to me.
Other affiliate programs can do this quickly and more efficiently. 888, please read this and respond on this thread with what you think: http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.com/bb/scaper-to-cpays.11094.html?
Why can Cpay get the job done so quickly and simply but 888 cant?
Thank You
April 27, 2006 at 8:35 pm #690239AnonymousInactiveFor all those interested. There is now a thread discussing this on CasinoMeister as well.
April 27, 2006 at 8:53 pm #690242AnonymousInactiveI am currently working on a new blacklist page specifically for 888. When it is finished, I would love to exchange links with anyone else who has a page dedicated to blacklisting 888.
Shelly usually has Friday and Saturday off (that is the way it works in Israel), and I believe Thursday has now ended. I am not willing to wait until Sunday or Monday for some answers. 888 has dragged their feet for FAR TOO LONG, and I am through standing by while rogue affiliates steal my work.
Also — I am not interested in seeing *only* the sites in this thread dealt with (which seems to be Shelly’s goal — to only deal with the sites we bring to her attention). That is not an acceptable approach. A firm stance against unethical behavior is needed. My suggestion to permanently ban the people behind the scraping is supported by the Professor, Dominique, and Webzcas — but that idea was presented 2 days ago — why hasn’t 888 responded to this? Hello??
April 28, 2006 at 1:08 am #690290AnonymousInactiveThis fellow has made a lot of money for himself and 888.com. He has also scraped my site as well. money-poker-club.info the IP is 205.234.96.152 So who is this person?
Young internet entrepreneuer sets goal of creating informative content for network of internet sites.
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) February 1, 2006 — At the tender age of fifteen, Brandon Blum’s internet prowess was already earning him $100,000 per year. Now, having recently graduated college, he is hoping to bring similar Internet success to others with what he calls his first “real” business – NicheBlast LLC.
The NicheBlast system creates websites with unique content while providing writers the opportunity to earn unlimited income from their work. Once logged on to the site, writers can view the list of topics currently available and submit articles on the topic of their choice. After approval by the editorial department, the article is published on one of the NicheBlast member websites and the writer shares the revenue earned by all of the NicheBlast sites.
“I came up with the idea for NicheBlast having been involved in the development of content-rich websites for some time,” says Brandon. “Content writers are typically poorly compensated for their skill and effort. Many webmasters pay paltry amounts for content that comprises the backbone of their site.”
“NicheBlast attempts to change all of that, rewarding writers fairly, and giving them an earning potential which is linked to how much they write for us, making sure that those who make the greatest contribution reap the greatest rewards.”
Although the NicheBlast website has only just launched, its owner is aiming for rapid expansion – and if there’s one thing Brandon Blum knows how to do, it’s how to make websites successful.
“I sold my first Internet based business for over $100,000,” he says, “And my income from the Internet has been growing ever since, so you could say that this is in my blood. Now that I’ve graduated and am ready to concentrate on it full time, I’m hoping that NicheBlast will be an even greater success – both for myself, and for the writers who contribute to it.”
