Does anyone go to the Affiliate Summit in Vegas (http://www.affiliatesummit.com/)? This coming year it is from Jan 8-10 and I am wondering if there is much value in going.

    Cheers….

Are you an affiliate or operator?

From an affiliate’s perspective, many of us promote in a variety of industries, so networking and finding new verticals is always valuable, and Affiliate Summit does a good job of that.

From an operator’s perspective, it’s tough to find a lot of gambling traffic at this event.

My company is an operator, but not in gaming, we are an online ticket broker (sports, concerts and theater). I also act an an affiliate, but again, not in gaming.

Thats one thing Australia really lacks, good solid conferences to go to, to mingle amongst like minded people, talk shop, network and get another perspective on other verticals.

Planning on spending about a month in Vancouver next year, hoping to hit a few conference States side.

    Hi cmcdonnell:

I’ve had the opportunity to attend Affiliate Summit since it first started out as a conference. Honestly, it is an excellent show and really great for the online affiliate marketing sector. As Warren mentioned, it does not have a super strong suit in online gambling. However, for other markets, there’s a great turn out of Affiliates & Clients a like and usually some great business to be had. For an online ticket broker, I’m thinking it could be worth your while to attend and try to meet with potential affiliate partners.

    Best of luck to ya!

Thanks JillO, that seems to be the consensus on what I have heard regarding that particular event, so I am pretty sure that I’ll be attending. Some of our products are still in development, but by then everything should be up and running with all of the kinks worked out, so it should be a great opportunity to meet some affiliates that are looking for a mutually beneficial relationship, while also learning a few things for my own affiliate practices :)

Whens the best time of year to hit the western side of North America for conferences, I want to get in as much as I can. I’m thinking gaming and non gaming, and decent size conferences so its worth my while making the journey over. Accommodation is pretty much sorted, and I can always bounce from city to city, I’m thinking LA, Vegas and Vancouver for conferences.

Hey Rak… honestly, you’re impeding on a good time of year for shows in the states.

Nov. is Ad Tech NY, which is a huge show of the year. And Jan. is Affiliate Summit in Vegas.

Also, the first weekend in Nov is the Blog Expo World show in LA.

    Come on over, Mate!
