I signed up as an affiliate at several sites with good CPA deals. (888, empire, some others). I plan to offer players I refer part of the money I make as an incentive to sign up. Before I actually launch my marketing campaign, I want to be sure that I am going to receive my money — especially since I will owe a portion of that to my users.

I’m signed up for 4 affiliate programs under Tradal.net. Does anyone have experience with them? I’ve been talking to one of their customer service reps for awhile, since I’ve had lots of questions, and the person has gotten back to me in 24 hours almost every time. But what about payment? Are they trustworthy?

I also have one with Pacific Poker, under reporting.net. Anyone had dealings with them?

And finally, I’m signed up with Party Poker. I assume they are reliable with their payments?

I’m very concerned about the trustworthiness of all these sites. It seems amazing to me that they would actually pay me that much money simply for getting people to deposit money.

    Thanks!

They are all trustworthy. But the website idea you have has been attempted before. A lot of casinos and poker rooms have terms and conditions against paying for incentivized clicks or deposits. These players are normally of lower value. (you’re not going to get a player spending 20k who is worried about getting $20 back)

I would recommend you contact each outfit and see if they have anything against your website idea.

The places you mention are reputable as Antoine points out, but I would strongly advise against incentivised play.

All kinds of things can go wrong with that, apart from the fact that the programs may not like it or even strongly forbid it.

Everytime incentivised play come up as an issue, the webmaster is in deep doodoo.

The casinos have bonuses for that purpose, and sometimes you catch some free money for your players, like Wager Profits is offering at the time.

I know, it seems to make sense – I thought about it too when I started out. But believe me – more often than not it’s big trouble.

If they allow it and you do it, make sure you do NOT depend on your profit to make the payments to players. Players want their money NOW and casino programs pay LATER.

    Thanks for the response guys.

I had the same concern that you mentioned, so I decided to play it safe and ask them up front if it’s okay to give my players “external” bonuses. They said it was okay, which I was a little surprised about.

My plan is to explain to my players that they will receive their bonus in a month. I figure if the bonus is good enough, they’ll be willing to wait.

The biggest thing I’m worried about is if 100 people sign up, I owe them all money, and the affiliate sites claim that only 10 people sign up, or simply refuse to pay me. But if the sites are trustworthy, I guess I can go through with it!

    Thanks again

I still want to go on record as advising against it.

There are too many things that can go wrong.

You can permanently ruin your career as casino webmaster if players are unhappy and hit the message boards.

At least have enough money on hand to cover it all.

Just recently we had a case here – with the same casinos – and it took them six weeks to pay. The guy got fried on the message boards by angry players who said he stole from them.

Thanks for the warning, Dominique. I’ll take all that into careful consideration before I proceed. It’s a little different in my case since I’m not just a webmaster — I’ll be in contact with all the players so I can update them on whatever’s happening. But still, you definitley have a point.

    Any other opinions?

I had a similar idea several years ago. I had actually started the concept and there was a warm reception to it. The only difference is that a part of the affiliate fee was donated to charity.

Unfortunately revenue canada was dissaproving my donation receipts, because i had donated to american charities and according to them those aren’t real charities. If you ask them only canadian charities are worthy.

Better get this in writing as you could find that you will forfeit a large commission check and to add insult to injury be out the incentive monies too!

Most casinos will NOT allow you to incentivize players under a CPA model. If they allow it at all its strictly under a Net Win or Percentage of deposit scheme ONLY.

Carefully read the published Terms and Conditions and require a written exclussion for providing a cash incentive to players on a CPA commission plan. A verbal agreement will not be honored and should not be the basis of moving forward with this plan.

    Hi Professor–

    Two questions:

    1) Does email count as getting it in writing, or do I need an actual printed document?

    2) Am I getting this from the affiliate places (tradal etc), or from the casino sites (888.com etc)? Or both?

Ideally a written document. But a document on company letterhead in .pdf format would probably be fine also.

    2) Am I getting this from the affiliate places (tradal etc), or from the casino sites (888.com etc)? Or both?

Again, ideally both. But, in this case I would be satisfied with a written guarantee from Tradal as they are a reliable partner to work with if everything is clearly outlined and understood by both parties.

Once again, thanks a lot. I’ll work on getting it in writing.

I work both with empire and pacific , and I think both are honest, with both since we bring nice number of players we work directly with the vendors, this way you do not have a middleman.
Both are very good and pay nicly if you bring good number of players

Thanks Janet. What do you mean you work “directly with the vendors”?

if you bring nice amount of players usually you can get better treatment (%, CPA, support) from the program, the best way to do so is to be in touch with the top level managment of the operation and take your issues with them, it worked not just for me, I know other people here on the forum which I gave the lead to the right person in the program they need to talk to and it worked better with them also.
but those managers only deal with the people who can bring in more then 30 players a month at the minimon so it is not for everyone.
    hope this helps
    /Janet
