As a US affiliate, I don’t understand the current approach that most programs have to paying us. In particular, many programs appear to be focused on using the same payment mechanisms for players and affiliates alike. The problem is that one of those processed appears to be against the law, while the other is not.
I don’t see any legitimate reason that payments to affiliates would be a problem under the current law, as long as you aren’t mixing us in with payments to players.
Couldn’t a payment processing company be used ONLY to service affiliates in the US? Wouldn’t that avoid the current solution-of-the-month mentality?
I’m probably in the minority here when I say I wish the reputable programs would pull out of the US market. I suspect that once the legislative tide turns, there will be consequences of having ignored the current law. My position was an easy decision. When the law went into effect, I stopped serving online gambling ads inside the US. This topic probably deserves its own thread.
Back to the payment separation issue… Is this a possibility? Would it help?
I believe a payment solution just for affiliates is almost ready – The Professor has hinted about it a bit and I think it is almost ready from what I have heard. Also because it only pays affiliates and not players it won’t run into problems.
When it’s all sorted and ready I am sure The Professor will let everyone know about itI recall hearing something about a service called Affiliate Speed Pay or something like that. I think it was in the latest CAP magazine, but I haven’t heard anything else about it other that that ad. I hope it comes through as it will be nice to not have to worry about it shutting down.

I assume we’ll be hearing from affiliate programs as they begin to support this?
