    Hi peralis!

Herby and Sue have my email and phone number and Herby knows how to reach me and does so and always gets a nice and friendly reply. Isn’t that true Herby?

I have never been unfriendly or closed minded when approached by either Herby or Sue. It is not my nature, I am a friendly and open minded person.

The only thing I objected too, with lots and ample warning, was Gator at the conference. Everyone knew it, everyone knew when the GPWA voted to boycott and to endorse an alternative event.

I also object to my name being thrown around all over the web on various forums.

I do not appreciate people posting all kinds of stuff and attributing opinions and attitudes to me.

Only I speak for me, and I would greatly appreciate it if I were left out of these discussions unless I chose to enter them.

I am quite upset about this. People contact me all day and ask me if I saw the posts at wol.

You can talk about yourselves but leave me out of it.

    Dominique,

Yes, it is true that your manners are not lacking. I find no fault in how you communicate. However, and please don’t take this as an attempt to fan the flames here again, I want to leave you with a thought that does involve good, professional manners….

Dominique, if you don’t like what’s playing at the theatre, because there is an actor involved you don’t like, don’t go to that show. Period. That’s your prerogative.

The moment you decide to become an activist and steer the crowds away from the show, just because you don’t like an actor, you delve into the realm of making the minds up for other people.

Just because you have an issue with the particular actor, does not mean you have a right to derail the whole show. Every production has a villain and perhaps the show was designed to make a public execution? Just because you did not understand the plot, does not make it a bad show…

A word of advice from someone that has learned a lot about producing affiliate marketing events over the past 5 years. You may be better off planning your events differently in the future. Yes, you may be seen amongst your peers as somewhat of a hero right now, but rest assured your actions have not come close to be viewed as professional conduct in other circles.

I fear you will take the above badly, but so be it. I have spoken my mind. Perhaps one day you will understand the blow that has been dealt to the GPWA and casino affiliate marketing in general.

Don’t get me wrong. This note bears no malice. I simply wish to express my feelings. I am passionate about affiliate marketing and it is a sad day indeed, when affiliates are seen to be a bunch of schoolyard children, snatching the ball away to go play in another field. We are better viewed as white-collared professionals, who are more than capable of defeating the “competition” in the boardroom. Yes, because that’s where Gator is. They are playing a better game than us, and are smirking broadly as they wheel and deal in the boardroom ….. while the unhappy affiliates are outside in the field, angrily kicking around a soggy football….

    Just my 3c.

    Cheers,

    Herby

PS I sincerely hope to catch up with you in Montreal. You have done an admirable job in rallying your troops. I like generals with strong character. Perhaps there is still some way we can get together and inconvenience the enemy, if not make a bunch of fancy handbags for Christmas gifts :)

    Hello Kevin
Thanks for popping in and for the effort at smoothing the waves created by this discussion. I appreciate your sentiments and agree.

    Herby
Good luck in Montreal and with your future endeavors. While I don’t agree with you on the Gator issue (the approach to solving the problem) I now believe you probably meant to reach the same ends we as affiliates do. I wish this whole situation hadn’t developed the way it did as it would have been interesting to see how the events might have been through a joint effort.

    Dominique
Thanks for your patience and planning. I know Montreal will be a rousing success due to your efforts. I can hardly wait for the future events that are in the works.

    Dear Herby,

This post is beating a dead horse, and you won’t even catch me beating a live one.

It also should be discussed in a phone call or letter instead of plastered all over the net. This is in poor form.

    The facts are:

    1. A conference for affiliates was scheduled.
    2. The single biggest group of affiliates let the organizers know in no uncertain terms that they found the presence of one person at this conference so offensive that they would not only refuse to attend but boycott.
    3. The organizers failed to even pay attention and did not react in a timely manner.
    4. The affiliates created an event the way they like it, barring the objectionable person.

It all sounds perfectly logical to me.

This is the last post I am making about this subject matter. It is done.

Now please refrain from posting in various places about me, using my name and attaching intentions, attributes and attitudes to me. I consider it slander.

If there is some sort of opinion you would like me to clarify, please contact me, you have the means.

My offer to cooperate next year remains standing – barring the presence of representatives of predatory advertising.

    PS.

My opposition to giving Gator a platform remains, and if the Vegas conference organizers insist on having Gator as a guest, I will arrange an alternate event there, also.

    Dominique,

Replying in forums can hardly be termed as slander. I transgressed your nickname cover in here by accident. I know you by another name in our forums. I simply cut and pasted my posts from there. My apologies.

In closing, you did what you did and the GPWA have made a choice. You have a right to do that.

However, I fear the GPWA have dealt themselves a serious blow this time. So much the pity. Some bright folks are pariticipants there.

Personally, I think it’s only a matter of time, before the more discerning affiliate networks will reconsider their involvement in GPWA and start distancing themselves from that organization.

There are more effective methods to tackle the predatory problem, than calling for boycotts and making demands, be it from casinos, affiliate networks and/or affiliate marketing events.

I shall beat the horse no more.

    Cheers,

    Herby

I am only posting to point out that no vote was taken to boycott – and that a vote to endorse an alternative agenda was not approved by an overwhelming majority of members – it was approved by a very small minority of members with many more choosing to not vote at all. However, this small minority did in fact outweigh the tiny opposition who cast a vote by 3-1.

Please do not insinuate that the entire GPWA backed this – it was not even close.

Now everyone stop throwing stones and focus on making the respective events successful, please?

Like I said, the Gator is back in the swamp now, just when we had a chance to lure the sucker out … and stamp all over him.

… and to support this view of things instead. But surprisingly a number of affiliates did not see things this way – that’s what democracy is about.

Only the small group interested in going to Toronto at the time plus a few interested parties voted and it was a great majority of them who voted to endorse the alternative event as well as the boycott.

This is nobody’s business anyway, it is internal GPWA material. I am not arguing with you in public, Spear.

Looks like Affiliate Farce is no more…. After fooling a few more suckers by claiming that the Booze Cruise would sail in August Herby changed the Affiliate Farce site and removed info about an August event. Bye Bye…

Oh by the way, the world longest forum upgrade must still be in progess because the the iLaughma forums are still locked down.
