“Keep your friends close, keep your enemies even closer!”

Rather then embrace the enemy, join your peers in Toronto. Alternative meetings with GPWA affiliates are being planned. You can join us for lunch, discussion and networking.

Wouldnt you rather talk to affiliates then an empty room?

I just heard from Sue Schneider of River City Group. She says Gator must remain an integral part of the event. I told her this was unfortunate and that I felt this decision was ill advised and in very poor taste.

Scumware has caused more damage to our businesses then we care to even guess at. It’s time we stood together firmly on this issue and presented a uniform response. We are NOT going to accept Gator or any scumware provider as just another marketing vehicle. Dominique said it best, we dont need to sit down and chat with the people that are stealing food from our tables.

I am boycotting affcon and will take a very dim vew on any casinos or affiliates that support the one day event.

I have posted this elsewhere also.

If Gator refunded me the stolen money and then paid me to listen I might.

    I don’t talk to thieves.

If a burglar is caught in my house nobody expects me to sit there and listen to him tell me why stealing is really ok. If he does so in court he’ll be locked up.

I resent you, Herby, (I don’t know you but you say you are responsible) for giving gator a platform. I want to make a point to future organizers. I will not attend but instead I will grab all the affs and aff managers I see and go have a nice productive lunch, networking and socializing.

Sure beats listening to Gator. How could you give low down thieves like that a platform! You should have asked affiliates before you invited someone to their convention. We have repeatedly refused to give Gator the time of day.

Our boycott of Gator has been very successful, which is why they want to talk to us. The 3 major casino groups have stopped using Gator. We are happy. Gator is not. Let’s keep it that way.

I will be asking all the affiliates, aff managers and casinos I know (and that’s a lot) to join the professor and me on affcon day. We’ll make it a celebration of the success of our boycott.

And Herbie, you write: “The more astute amongst us will realize….” I am not sure who you mean with “us”, are you a casino affiliate ? And be careful who you designate as “less astute”!

    Hi,
I just heard that the US health ORG suggest people not to attend toronto, since there were 15 cases of death from SARS there.

I am re-thinking my participation, how about you guys ?

I am very concerned as well. I have four kids living at home and I wouldnt not want to transport back any potentially fatal viri.

I havent decided yet, but if GIGSE is postponed or the venue changed this might alleviate the problem. I know River City group is weighing the options now and want to see what they decide before I make a final decision.

    April 29, 2003

As you know, the Global Interactive Gaming Summit and Expo was scheduled for May 20-22 in Toronto. Given the situation in Toronto, it became clear that the event would be impossible to implement as originally planned. Therefore, we solicited feedback from you and explored all options.

We have decided to move both the date and location for the GIGSE 2003 event given the responses we received from exhibitors and sponsors, as well as both registered and prospective delegates. It will now be held June 17-19 at the Palais des Congres de Montreal. We ask your indulgence as we sort through the myriad of details which include potential revised conference schedules, revised floor plans for the show, and hotel reservation information. This information will be posted on the GIGSE website as soon as it is available. AFFCon will now be on Tuesday, June 17.

We do plan to have the hotel information for our two convention hotels available on the http://www.gigse.com website by Wednesday evening, April 30. We do suggest that you make reservations as soon as possible at the two hotels to guarantee nearby accommodations. We were able to secure hotel rates that are more attractive than those we had in Toronto so that should help with your cost savings.

And, in a good faith effort, River City Group is extending the early bird discount rate for registrations until June 12 when online registration is ended. Any on-site walk-in registration fees will be at the original rates.

Again, we thank you for your patience and understanding in these trying times and we look forward to an exciting and successful event. GIGSE has grown to be THE marketplace and meeting place for the interactive gaming industry and we’re committed to providing that forum in 2003 and beyond.

I will be attending GIGSE in Montreal in June. You will probably spot me cruising the floor (I am pretty hard to miss) on the 18th and 19th.

I also encourage everyone to join us for “A Day with GPWA” on June 17th.

Dominique has arranged a day of quality networking for Affiliate Managers and members of GPWA and the affiliate marketing community. CAP is endorsing the event and the Professor will be there. Currently we have 10 Different Affiliate Programs attending and a sizable number of webmasters. Please support the Affiliate Marketing Community and GPWA. This event is FREE to all attendees.

Say Yes to A Day with GPWA on June 17th in Montreal

Say No to Scumware and Anti Affiliate Groups.

Lolololol, If I can ever stop laughing I will post here! :D

I will be at gigse also, and I too tend to stick out in a crowd.

Yes, the GPWA is endorsing an alternative event running parallel to affcon.

The day with GPWA will feature a full agenda.

A big applause to Casino Rewards! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:

Casino Rewards is sponsoring Lunch for the affiliates attending the Day with GPWA event.

We have commitments from almost all the affiliate managers now – they will attend the GPWA event with us.

Our affiliate managers are standing loyally by their affiliates – and we will be sure to remember who supported us!

Soon I will publish a list of all the programs backing the GPWA event.

Oh, and before I forget, ALL affiliates are welcome at the GPWA event in Montreal. This is NOT limited to GPWA members. CAP members and all other affiliates are welcomed with open arms!

    TThanks !

I am not a GPWA member, since I tried to apply two times and got no response back so I left it as is (their forums platform does not seems that stable), I also do not understand the need to be with a site for 3 months alive in order to join, if this organization is aimed in helping new webmasters in getting into the industry .. but hay, the forums here were sufficient for me to get an handle on things, I will try to attend the meeting.

That is wonderful, we’ll be looking forward to seeing you there!:D

We’ll be staying at the intercontinental.

And the 3 month rule is just so we don’t get lots of people who are really not serious about this line of work. Many people slap a site together and give up on it if they don’t make money in a month. That’s why the GPWA has two forums – the public forum and the private forum.

    We have that here, too.

Hope to see you in Montreal!

All I can say is WOW!

The GPWA/CAP event in Montreal has really captured everyones attention. I have heard from at least two dozen people who will be joining us for “A Day with GPWA” at the Intercontinental Hotel on June 17th. We have quite a few major Affiliate Programs supporting the event and virtually all the affiliates who are coming to Montreal will be there!

    I can hardly wait!!!

Dominique has done a STELLAR job organizing this event. She can’t be thanks enough for what she is doing for Casino Affiliates Worldwide!

Dom can you give us a small taste of who we have scheduled and what the plans are?

    FYI
The organizers of affcon have been frantically trying to get us to combine the CAP/GPWA meeting with their failed event. Guess they underestimated the power of a few determined affiliates.
Poor Dom has been under siege for two days!

    Another one bites the dust!

Zane Green of Referback has come over from the dark side and will be joining us at the CAP/GPWA conference in Montreal on June 17th.

    Good Work Dominique!

Thank you Professor, your contributions weren’t exactly shabby either. You have supported me at every opportunity!

    Ok, this is the plan:

The event is free to all!!!

Please thank the generous affiliate programs who make this possible by giving them a special place on your pages!

In the afternoon of the 16th, as people arrive, there will be an informal voluntary gathering in the lobby of the Intercontinental. Most likely there will be beer etc. being consumed. I am waiting for a final confirmation on plans for the evening, but there is something special in the works. Montreal is a beautiful romantic city and we shall experience some of it then.

At 9am on the 17th we will gather in the Salon Saint Laurent at the Intercontinental. Casino Coins has been kind enough to reserve this hall for us for all day. Yes you will be expected to be out of bed by then!!!

We will spend the morning all getting to know each other – sort of like the speed dating phenomenon. By the time we go off for lunch, everyone there will have met everyone else.

Lunch is sponsored by Casino Rewards. Brent even extends his hospitality to the affiliate managers.

After lunch we will return to the Intercontinental for the afternoon. The gathering in the Salon Saint Laurent will be semi informal. We will discuss various topics near and dear to the hearts of both affiliates and affiliate managers. There will be opportunities to pick each others brains.

I am also herewith inviting everyone to contribute ideas, quiestions and suggestions regarding this part of the event.

The group will split up somewhat after this, and various factions will go to dinner together.

I received calls from two more casino groups yesterday who want in! This is going to be a standing room only event pretty soon!

Welcome aboard another major Microgaming Partner. I will let Dominique make the formal announcement. But these folks have joined up and are providing the cocktails (my favorite part :) )

Affiliates please confirm now (it’s free!) so we can ensure there is enough food and drinks for all. This is really starting to develop into a huge turn out!
