I was checking out my whois source today to find a ssl cert good for 351 days from a kollmanradio.com. Can anyone enlighten me on this one? I did not request or buy such a thing. greek39

    Here are a few guesses.

Sometimes hosts automatically provide shared SSL areas for their clients. Maybe your host does that, and it had to be recorded somehow for you to use it.

Or, maybe you are on a shared IP and, and that is the cert of someone else on your IP.

Personally, it’s something I wouldn’t worry about. If you remain concerned, you should email your host and see what they tell you.

    No problem.

You may or may not have a choice. I still say it’s no big deal either way.

You’re certainly right to question it to see what’s going on. Paying attention and figuring things out is usually worth the trouble.
