A bit excessive, don’t ya think? I have been holding off on posting but, a week has gone by and I still continue to receive the same affiliate’s spam with your properties.
I have been forwarding all the spam emails with full headers to: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
I have asked that the spam ceases or at the least, a reply in the interum. I have received nothing but more spam!
Can you PLEASE inform me of what to do to cease this affiliates spam???!!
Your cooperation is appreciated.
May 18, 2008 at 1:11 am #768025AnonymousInactiveHey more4me – Are you still receiving the Fortune spam? If so, could you please forward them to me at winyourwager(at)gmail.com – I’m having the same problem & am working on a solution to solve this. Thanks! – Erik
May 26, 2008 at 8:15 pm #768546affiliategodMemberHi Erik,
Fortune affiliates did nothing to help stop the spam. It finally ended when I replied to the spammer with over 200 emails that I hadn’t deleted from my bulk mail. The last was:
SPAM!!!!
How are you liking getting your own spam right back at ya. Annoying as hell, isn’t it?!
Cut the shit and lose this email addi!
It stopped after that.
Fortune claims not to condone spam but, they sure don’t do a dam thing when it is happening. They lost my respect.
May 26, 2008 at 9:30 pm #768548AnonymousInactiveI’m getting them too. To be honest, I’ve always received Fortune spam. Always have, probably always will.

Shows from thier track record of me complaining and forwarding all spams for over a month. I did not get so much as 1 reply from them and the spam continued. I actually think they honor affiliates that spam like hell. They’re getting to be right up there with CPays spam tactics. Arrrgg!
May 27, 2008 at 2:42 am #768560AnonymousInactiveI’m sick & tired of it. Not only the spam, but the lack of help, despite my countless attempts to end this problem civilly. They (the spammers & Fortune) think they can avoid getting in any trouble since these spammers use some clever tactics. They are wrong. I have been compiling not only the spam I’ve received over the last 5 months (somewhere around 4,500), but also info. from spam reporting message boards & other sources. This Fortune spam is a very widespread problem. I have a package of info. that I’m prepared to forward to Ecogra, Microgaming, the FCC & their Registrars, that will make sure this ends quickly. My advice… shut down the spammers account quickly, Fortune. – Erik

Erik,
So do it! You know Fortune will not do anything aobut the spam. If you have means to stop it, PLEASE do! Don’t make idle threats. Actions speak louder then words. I’m behind you 100%! If I can do anything, please do let me know. SPAM cannot be condoned!

May 27, 2008 at 4:47 am #768564AnonymousInactiveYes, I’ll be following through w/ reporting this problem. I gave them more than enough time to shut the spammers down & they haven’t.
May 29, 2008 at 11:23 pm #768880AnonymousInactiveMore just in – we need to put in enough complaints to get Fortune’s domains taken down if they don’t stop this crap

It was specific to their property (as all my emails are). A few emails back and forth with FA, but never a resolution or really any resolve on their part to find the problem.
I dumped their properties at that point other than some old links.
May 30, 2008 at 10:29 pm #768955AnonymousInactiveMore Fortune crap. The fact that Fortune always have – and always will – love spamming the crap out of people – should be enough to see them booted out of CAP and GPWA forever.
This industry can do without Fortune and their love of spam

For example, this is the info I can get for 7-sultans.com
Domain Name: 7-SULTANS.COM
Registrar: REGISTER.COM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.register.com
Referral URL: http://www.register.com
Name Server: NS2.OLGDNS.COM
Name Server: NS3.OLGDNS.COM
Status: clientDeleteProhibited
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Updated Date: 10-jun-2007
Creation Date: 09-jul-1999
Expiration Date: 09-jul-2008Should we be going to register.com – as a group of us – to complain and ask for the domain to be shut down?
May 31, 2008 at 12:15 pm #768976WebzcasMemberHi;
I have spoken to Erik about the SPAM he has been receiving via PM and since he has still been receiving the mails this has been escalated.
Fictionnet, on Monday I will be escalating yours and Erik’s SPAM issue to the highest possible level to get results ASAP. This issue is going to viewed in a very serious light.
I will follow up with you individually with the results.
I will also look into the reasons as to why you did not receive any response from Support.
My apologies that this has already gone on for so long, it will be sorted out on Monday.
Thanks guys,
May 31, 2008 at 12:45 pm #768977AnonymousInactiveMarvyn, I would love to be able to take you at your word. Really, I would. But I can’t.
Fortune have been associated with spam for as long as I’ve been in this business. You know that. I know that. Pretty much everyone here knows that.
I’ve discussed this face to face with you guys at meetings and conferences throughout the years and it’s always been a case of a nod and wink that “yeah, we know – but we’re gonna carry on doing it.”
It cleared up for a while but it’s back and as bad as ever. It’s either coming from Fortune, an affiliate or a media buy. Any case isn’t hard to fix.
Let’s see what happens but I ain’t holding my breath.
May 31, 2008 at 11:25 pm #769015AnonymousInactiveMore lovely Fortune spam. I’m contacting register.com TODAY. I suggest everyone who receives Fortune’s spam contacts register.com and DEMANDS that they take down their domains.
