I don’t know if I was the only person not to know this but I thought it best to post – because I had no idea.
We see constant reference to the disallowed 11 states. Well, after chatting to Marcia at Brightshare, it appears we’re now up to 12 states with the addition of Utah.
I had no idea of this
According to Marcia, existing Utah-based players can continue to play but no new players can sign-up.
This applies to all Microgaming casinos. So update your sites and geo-targeting stuff
June 7, 2008 at 11:12 pm #769624AnonymousInactiveI’ve known it for close to a year now if not longer and have the banned states listed in the footer of my free slot games page.
However Utah was not one of them but was told that MI was the 12th.
(Excluded states include: Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin, Indiana, Nevada, South Dakota, New Jersey and New York)
It would be nice to have the above list verified by some AM’s so I can update/correct it.
Cheers,

June 8, 2008 at 5:47 pm #769646AnonymousInactiveI haven’t heard of 12 states, but here is the 11 state list from Wild Jack’s terms and conditions page.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to US gaming regulations, players residing in the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wisconsin, are not allowed to play the casino.
Have never seen an official listing from Microgaming, but that sure would be nice.
June 8, 2008 at 6:23 pm #769652AnonymousInactiveMicrogaming does not and will not make a statement on this, and that includes all the casinos and their reps, according to advice by legal council.
So you will hear no statement on this.:hattip:
June 11, 2008 at 3:57 pm #769856AnonymousInactiveThink everyone is different as i know a microgaming poker room that only blocks 3 states , they also have a flash micro casino in the poker client and anyone not from the 3 stats can play . And im sure of this as i tried it myself
June 14, 2008 at 5:19 am #770116AnonymousGuestlol at what 27 said.
totally sounds par.
what kills me is why do they care? they’re never going to get W’s blessing, or anybody else’s from the states. Not any time soon anyway.
I’d just decide I could live a long happy life outside the states and go full steam ahead with servicing anybody that sought out my establishment.
I don’t think this has all reached a point where the states would send the goon squad after you so until I was worried about getting a midnight visit .. I’d blatantly go after the biggest spending sector of my niche without excuse or apology.
Then again I’m not on the outside looking in at the only country to ever actually use a nuke. While I don’t disagree with Harry’s decision it surely must make us look like some pretty scary monsters capable of anything.
If I grew up outside the states … maybe I wouldn’t be so blatant about targeting them after all … upon second thought.
June 14, 2008 at 10:39 am #770132giftorgbestMemberDo you have a confirmed result of 11 or 12 states banned?
June 14, 2008 at 11:23 am #770134AnonymousInactiveAfter reading this thread, I did ask a support rep. from a MGS casino about Missouri. I was told that Missouri was indeed a banned state, with their group anyway.
