US Department of Justice
Ok we’ll give them some credit for opening up the way for legal online poker in the United States but, besides that, it’s been business as usual for the DOJ. Their prosecution/persecution of Calving Ayre seems pretty mean spirited.
The DOJ has also been on the wrong side of the sports betting debate for decades. If legal sports betting really encouraged game fixing wouldn’t the several hundred billion dollar illegal sports betting market encourage it even more?
We know that Washington D.C. is pretty dysfunctional these days, but no one in the industry would complain if the DOJ dialed it down a few notches.
