One of the more successful televised poker tours, America’s Heartland Poker Tour (HPT) is entering its seventh made-for-TV season, and it’s picked up leading Internet poker room UB.net as a key sponsor.
The HPT hits more than 100 million homes in the U.S. every week of the year, UB company reps note. That means that the sponsorship will help put UB.com front and center for all those viewers. And, considering that UB.com, along with sister site Absolute Poker, accepts U.S. online poker players, that’s a big marketing tool.
But that’s not all. The HPT has real appeal to today’s American poker fanatic, whose taste for the game has been a bit unpredictable lately. It’s a step above typical grassroots poker tours, UB reps note, and it “still manages to remember that having fun at the game is equally as important as any prize money.”
“What HPT has been able to do is fantastic,” Team UB Pro Joe Sebok said. “The best kept secret in poker with their homegrown events and national television exposure, they simply get bigger and better every year out. For us, to come in and back their product, we know we’ll help to shine a spotlight on HPT like never before.
“So, expect more players having some fun at the HPT tables and overall richer prize pools across the tour,” Sebok adds.
For its part, UB.net will have a major presence in every HPT Season 7 episode, and also at the Heartland Poker Tour’s website at hptpoker.com and live poker events associated with the brand.
UB will also be hosting a series of online tournaments designed to give players “the opportunity to win attractive prize packages, including HPT tournament entries, event hospitality, UB swag, plus cash towards travel and accommodation,” UB reps add. “The ultimate freeroll challenge will award a Season 8 HPT VIP Tour Pass to the winner, with full details to come shortly.”
Even though the HPT is aimed at the average ‘Poker Joe,’ there’ll be plenty of celebrities to grab the media’s attention.
“Tiffany Michelle and Maria Ho are fan favorites after playing a few HPT events,” said HPT Executive Producer and Co-founder Greg Lang. “We’re looking forward to seeing them more often, as well as other members of Team UB.”
UB.net is part of the Chipleader poker affiliate program, a CAP Listed Program.
