The most notable update to the UB and Absolute Poker 2011 contests comes as part of the Multi-Table Tournament (“MTT”) Leaderboard’s prize structure, which will concentrate on dishing out richer prizes for Monthly results and awarding the top overall performances at the felt at the end of 2011 in the Yearly MTT TLB contest.
The Monthly MTT TLB will dole out a $15,000 prize pool to the top 20 players each month, with the winner pocketing a stunning $5K for his or her superior play. The Yearly MTT TLB has received a mini-makeover for 2011, raising the stakes to a $116,000 total prize pool — $66,000 cash awarded to the top 10 players across the year, plus a $50,000 Freeroll open to the top 100 players. The yearly TLB winner will scoop the ultimate prize package comprised of a $10,000 World Series of Poker (“WSOP”) seat plus $10,000 cash, with the runner-up also banking a ticket to the WSOP Main Event along with $5,000.
One player who knows what it takes to top a highly competitive Yearly Leaderboard is 28-year-old Saint Louis resident C_SWEENZ, who took down the 2010 MTT Yearly Leaderboard with 12 months of exceptional poker play. A newcomer to full-time poker, C_SWEENZ’s consistent performance at the UB.com tables saw him soar to the top of the ladder early on, finishing with a score of 15626.90 points, over 800 points ahead of his nearest rival.

Come July 2011, C_SWEENZ will be Vegas-bound, where he’ll rep UB.com as the recipient of a $10,000 WSOP Main Event entry, part of his Yearly MTT TLB prize package. The 2010 MTT TLB runner-up FUTUREPROQQ, a 24-year-old Absolute Poker player from Lincoln, Nebraska, pockets $5,500 cash, and will also join C_SWEENZ as part of Team UB in Sin City for his own shot at the 2011 WSOP Main Event millions and the bracelet.
For Sit & Go regulars, the Weekly TLB contest rewards are much more immediate. Changes to the buy-in levels in 2011 make them even easier for players to get involved. The Diamond buy-in level has been lowered to $6.50 or less, delivering $1,000 cash prizes each week to the top 50 players. The Heart division is aimed at those who play Sit & Go tourneys with buy-ins between $6.51 and $25, and has a weekly $3,000 prize pool up for grabs, paying the top 40 players. Last but not least, the Spade division caters to online poker players who enjoy Sit & Gos at buy-ins of $26 upwards, with the top 20 players sharing $5,000 prize money each week.
