October 23, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — Online gambling software provider Playtech, already in the headlines with its major games and software deal with William Hill plc (see previous reports), has announced the imminent departure of its Chief Financial Officer, Guy Emodi, "to pursue other business interests". Emodi had been with the company for only a year.
His responsibilities will be taken over pro tem by former CFO and executive director Moshe (Shuki) Barak (39) although Emodi will stay on for long enough to ensure a smooth handover. Playtech has started a process to recruit a new permanent CFO.
Barak joined Playtech as CFO in February 2006 and in October 2007 stepped down from his position as CFO, yet continued to be a director on the board. Before joining Playtech, he was financial controller of ImageSat International N. V. a leading provider of satellite imagery services to worldwide customers. Prior to this, he worked at Arthur Andersen in Israel where he qualified as a certified public accountant.
Playtech chairman Roger Withers said in announcing Emodi's resignation: "Guy has played an important part in Playtech's recent growth. The Board will be sorry to see him leave and we wish him well for the future."
Emodi joined Playtech as CFO in October 2007 following a spell as Chief Executive Officer of Ocif India, a real estate investment subsidiary of Ocif. Previous roles included eight years with mobile phone provider Partner Communications, four as Director of Finance and CFO.
